The Christ Apostolic Church Theological Seminary (CACTS) Abeokuta Satellite Campus celebrated its 2nd Graduation Ceremony on November 22nd, 2024, at the premises of CAC Isale-Ake, the Essien Regional headquarters, Abeokuta, Ogun State.
This milestone marked another testament to God's faithfulness to the institution.
The school, which was granted autonomy in 2023, had been under the CACTS Lagos campus since its establishment in May 2018. The 1st graduation ceremony took place on November 25th, 2023.
The 2nd graduation ceremony commenced at 10:20am with the seminary students' choir leading the congregation in a joyful song ministration. This was followed by the processional hymn, taken from the CACGHB 995. The programme was moderated by Pastor (Dr.) L. B. Akinyosoye, the Registrar of CACTS.
The Acting Provost, Pastor F. A. Olaniyi, was represented by Pastor (Dr.) Fashina, the Ilesha Campus Coordinator, who declared the programme opened and closed it.
The opening hymn was anchored by Pastor S. B. Olatunde, after which the national and CACTS anthems were sung. Graduation addresses were delivered by the Acting Campus Coordinator of the Abeokuta Satellite Campus, Pastor Gbadebo Moses; the Chief Host, Pastor I. Olu. Eyebiokin, the Essien Regional Superintendent and Chairman, CACTS Abeokuta Campus Management Committee; and lastly, the address of the Provost, as delivered by his representative, Pastor (Dr.) Fashina.
A total of 70 graduands were awarded certificates, comprising 20 Certificate in Theology holders, 29 Diploma in Theology, and 21 Bachelor of Theology holders. These were presented and prayed for by Pastor I. Olu. Eyebiokin.
Highlights of the day included the dedication of the CACTS Abeokuta Satellite Campus' Musical and Drama C.Ds and the presentation of gifts to the best graduating students. Evang. Joshua Agunbiade emerged as the overall best student in the Certificate cadre, while Evang. Samuel Olaniyi and Evang. Olufemi Are were the best graduating students in the Diploma and Degree cadres, respectively.
The graduation message, titled "I command you," was delivered by Pastor (Dr.) Fashina, with a reference to 2 Timothy 4:1-5. The message served as a charge to the graduating students and everyone present to be diligent in preaching the Gospel, especially in these times.
The graduands were admitted into the Alumni Association and prayed for. Pastor I. Olu. Eyebiokin led a special thanksgiving session, appreciating the authority of the church for granting autonomy to the school and thanking God for the success recorded during the short period of autonomy.
The occasion was attended by many DCC and Zonal Superintendents, including Pastor S. B. Olatunde (Holy Ghost DCC Superintendent, Sabo, Abeokuta), Pastor Babalola, (Itori DCC Superintendent, Itori), Pastor Olowoyo, (Ifo DCC Superintendent, Ifo), Pastor I. O. Ogunbona, (Saje Zonal Superintendent, Saje, Abeokuta), Pastor V. O. Osiyemi, (Ibara-Omida Zonal Superintendent, Ibara), and Pastor J. J. Adelabu, (Amolaso Zonal Superintendent) among other District Superintendents.
