Christ Apostolic Church, Power of His Word Zone, Babalola Region, on Saturday, November 9, 2024, held her 2024 annual zonal seminar at the CAC Oke Alafia Adegbayi District Headquarters in Ibadan.
The impactful seminar, organized by the Sunday School Department, and themed "CAC Legacies & Beliefs and the 21st Century Church", geared towards reflecting on the church's foundational values and relevance today.
Esteemed speakers at the event, the Zonal Superintendent of CAC Power of His Word Zone, Pastor Peter Ayobamidele, and Special Assistant to the President of CAC Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor T. D. Asokeji, shared powerful insights with ministers, workers and other attendees.
In his opening lecture, Pastor Peter Ayobamidele highlighted the deep spiritual roots and legacies that have shaped CAC, positioning it as a pioneer of Pentecostalism in Africa.
He reminded the audience of the values passed down from the church’s founders, such as dedicated prayer, fasting, recitation from the book of Psalms, rigorous Bible teaching, healing through water, and demonstrations of divine power, noting CAC’s reputation for humility, holiness, faithfulness, prophecy, and simplicity.
Urging the attendees to preserve and strengthen these legacies in today’s world, he explained that "our mission began not with an ambition to start a church, but with a hunger for prayer, the Word of God, and the supernatural."
Taking the second session, Pastor Asokeji continued to link CAC’s heritage with its vision for the future; introducing the CAC of our dreams as a church community that embodies worship in Spirit and Truth (John 4:24), embraces true fellowship, practices selfless ministry, and prioritizes evangelism with diligence (Matthew 28:20).
He described a church where disciples are made in line with Mark 16:15 and Ephesians 4:11-15; where discipline is upheld without fear or favor; brotherly love flourishes, and all actions are directed to the glory of God (Colossians 3:17).
The SA to the CAC President emphasized that, “If those entrusted with history do not understand it, future generations may fall into error.”
He stressed that Christian life must be grounded in action as well as belief, noting that holiness is not about outward appearance but a lifestyle.
The cleric closed with a call to humility, stating, “Submission is the mark of a Christian—this is why Jesus called us sheep and not goats.”
The 2024 Zonal Seminar powerfully reinforced CAC’s spiritual mission and the significance of its legacies, inspiring all attendees to uphold and carry these values forward in the 21st century church.
