A wake-up call has gone to youth leaders to imbibe the attitude of Jesus in order to make positive impact in the ministry.

The Director of Youth Affairs, Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor Samson O. Gbuyiro who said this told the youth leaders that the condition to serve the Lord is to follow Jesus, and apart from following Jesus Christ, no one can take part in the ministry of the Lord, adding that the only attitude that can generate result is that one we have learnt from Jesus.

Pastor Gbuyiro stated this on Tuesday March 28, 2023 while ministering on the topic "Right Attitude to Ministry - Jesus' Examples" (text: John 9:1-5) at 2023 Annual Coordinators' Meeting of CAC Youth Fellowship held in Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State.

He said: "if anybody says he is ready to be engaged in the service of the Lord, we shouldn't begin to celebrate the person, until he's ready to follow the attitude of Jesus. Before we can celebrate the person, we must look at it critically and put it beside the ministry of Jesus Christ. We don't have the liberty to do anything we want in the ministry.  The condition to serve the Lord is to follow Jesus. Apart from following Jesus we can't take part in the work or ministry of the Lord. Whatever we want to do in our life, we should always fix our eyes on Jesus. Until we imbibe the attitude of Jesus, we can't make any impact in the ministry of the Lord. The only attitude that can generate result is that one we have learnt from Jesus."

He said that Jesus' attitude to service of the Lord is the attitude of a man that accepts responsibility.

On how Jesus responded to God, Pastor Gbuyiro noted that Jesus responded to God personally, explaining that "Jesus believes that His appointment is not a collective one. It will be difficult for us to work as a team if individually we are not responding to God. Anybody that will do well in the service of God must respond personally."

The Youth Director further said Jesus responded to God purposefully.

He added that "Jesus understood why God needs men in his service. God needs men to work His work. In the Christendom every service was designed to carry out the work of the Lord. You're a leader in that capacity to work the work of the Lord. If you're not working, you're already abusing the privilege given to you by God."

The Cleric also said that Jesus responded to God promptly, telling the youth leaders that "our positions in the youth fellowship is time bound."

Pastor Gbuyiro finally said that Jesus responded to God passionately, noting that "must" is an expression of passion.

"Without being passionate, we may not be able to go far in this work. It's not difficult to know a man of passion, his expression will show. Jesus was dead to excuses and complain," he said.

Pastor Gbuyiro concluded by telling the youth leaders to "check your attitude, if it's not of that of Jesus, you haven't started because you have not accepted responsibility. The work of God cannot progress and multiply in the hand of a person who doesn't accept responsibility. We are not faithful if what God has committed into our hands does not multiply."

After the message and a prayer session, the youth leaders went into discussions such as 2023 Youth Fellowship Programme, Campus Fellowship, Youth Accommodation Project, The Mandate of Soul Winning and Church Planting and many others.
