Pastor Saliu of CAC Mokola DCC emerges 13th Registrar, University of Ibadan

The Governing Council of University of Ibadan has approved the appointment of Ganiyu Saliu, as the 13th Registrar of the institution.

Ganiu Saliu is a Pastor in Christ Apostolic Church, Oke Ayo, Mokola DCC headquarters, Ibadan, Oyo State.

The approval follows the retirement of the 12th Registrar, Mrs Olubunmi Faluyi, who bows out of office after her five-year tenure.

Faluyi’s tenure ends on Monday, April 3;while Saliu is expected to assume duties on Tuesday for a five year tenure in the first instance.

In a brief inauguration and send-off ceremony for the incoming and outgoing Registrars, held at the Trenchard Hall of the University, staff, students, friends, families and well wishers all poured encomium on the outgoing Registrar.

The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Administration, Professor Ayoola, in an address read on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Kayode Adebowale, described Mrs Faluyi as an astute administrator, a leader per excellence, and an effective manager of human and material resources.

He noted that Mrs Faluyi’s journey to the pinnacle of her career was characterised by hard work, readiness to learn, commitment, loyalty to the system, a deep knowledge of the traditions and culture of the University as well as the desire to do the right thing and stand by the truth always.

There were also goodwill messages from colleagues who sang her praises and spoke of her intellectual capacity while also describing her as a repository of knowledge and administrative records.

The highpoint of ceremony was the symbolic handing over of the baton of leadership of the University of Ibadan Registry to the incoming Registrar.

Upon receiving the baton, Saliu promised to uphold the traditions of the University and to take the Registry and the University to higher heights.

He solicited the support and cooperation of all staff of the University to achieve a successful tenure. He promised not to betray the confidence reposed in him.
