It was a celebration of 60 years of God's grace on Sunday April 16, 2023 at Christ Apostolic Church, Mount of Victory, Apata District, Somolu Districts' Coordinating Council (DCC) headquarters, Apata, Somolu, Lagos State.
As part of the activities to commemorate the church anniversary, the church gave awards to foundation members who started with the Church including the elders, deacon and deaconesses who had contributed greatly to the progress of the Church.
While giving the Welcome Speech, the Superintendent of CAC Somolu DCC, Pastor E.O.O. Oyedeji said, "this is no doubt another milestone in the history of this great assembly which was established many years ago through the help of the Holy Spirit."
He added that the anniversary would not have held "if we were to observe the wind and the cloud but the scriptures says we are not to walk by sight but by faith."
"A big thanks to everyone who has contributed greatly to the success story of this great assembly. God bless you all," the cleric said.
While delivering the anniversary message with the theme "The Everlasting God", the CAC General Superintendent, Pastor E.O. Odejobi said, "if you are not grateful then you will be great fools. It is paramount to appreciate the everlasting God for giving us an everlasting grace to witness today."
"Only the everlasting God gives growth", he emphasized, adding that "one of the reasons God created us is to grow and live forever without ending, not on this planet earth but to live and reign with Him forever."
He continued that, "trust the word of God. The word of God represents Jesus Christ and it is important that we learn how to trust His words. It is impossible to love God and hate His word. Without the word of God, you can not reign and live with Him forever."
The clergyman said, "we can obviously see the results of obeying Gods word today. Only God could have brought this assembly this far. As a child of God, learn to obey God's word and wait upon His promises because they won't fail even if men do."
He concluded by beseeching everyone to wait upon the Lord and never relent in doing God's work.
The awardees were awarded their certificates as the congregation and other ministers of God joined them in thanksgiving.
