CAC Adekitan Choir holds 53rd annual choir festival



It was an atmosphere of rejoicing at the 53rd Annual Choir Festival and Thanksgiving service of the Choir of Christ Apostolic Church, Mountain of Blessing, Adekitan District Headquarters, Mushin, Lagos.


The programme held on Sunday, October 23, 2022 with the theme "We Will Rejoice (Habakkuk 3:18)," was five hours of unforgettable experience with the Holy Spirit through melodious and sacred music. 


The choir in their beautiful attire performed songs such as "Rejoice" by Sinach (adapted); "Awa yoo yo" by Tope Ilori; "Gbori Soke" by Ayo Oluranti; "Hallelujah, you've done something wonderful" by Tope Ilori; "Fear not oh Land" by Caleb Simper; "Aanu Oluwa" by Igbokwe Elisha and "Olorun to layo" by Ayo Oluranti. 


In his welcome address, the Music Director of CAC Adekitan District Headquarters, Elder Michael Aladejebi said lessons from the anniversary theme teaches that things may not be very smooth the way we want it, yet we will rejoice in the Lord because He is unchangeable.


He urged people to rejoice in God who is the God of our salvation, even when everything in life goes wrong.


"An introduction to this year's celebration is the rededication and consecration of members as vessels of honour to the Lord. Today, as we rejoice in the presence of our God, we expect in our midst some of our spiritual fathers in the Lord and senior music ministers who have played one part or the other in the development of music in our mission CAC," he said. 


A Guest Minister at the programme, the Regional Choir Coordinator of Pearce Region, Pastor Philip Ayeni urged that we are expected to rejoice at all times, even when things are not palatable. 


He noted that in the midst of the situation of the country, we have to rejoice.


Pastor Ayeni urged the people not to entertain any fear, saying that; "don't die before dead, commit all into God's hands."


According to him, as Christians we have to rejoice that God gave us Christ who delivered and saved us from sin. 


Pastor Ayeni, in his conclusion, urged Christians to wake up from their slumber,  be free to serve God and do everything to promote the gospel. 


The programme had in attendance notable personalities in the Choir department of Christ Apostolic Church such as, the Music Director, CAC Love of God Zonal Headquarters, Elder Sunday Adenekan, his assistant, Mr. Olusegun Soyinka; Music Composer and Instrumentalist, Igbokwe Elisha and many others.
