Family, Friends, Church members bid wife of CAC Ipadabo Jesu DCC Superintendent, late Evang. (Mrs) Mercy Akeju farewell

"...concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him (1 Thessalonians 4:13-14)" were Apostle Paul's comforting words to the then believers in Thessalonica, and contemporary believers when beloved ones go home to be with the Lord. 


The family, friends, church members and relatives of the Wife of the DCC Superintendent, Oke Ipadabo Jesu DCC, Akure, Pastor G. Olu Akeju, Lady Evangelist Mercy Olufunke Akeju who was called unto glory on the 15th of July 2022 after a brief illness, have said their farewell in the light of the above scripture.


The Christian Wake-up/Service of songs, observed in her honour held on 25th August 2022 at C.A.C Ipadabo Jesu Headquarters Oke-Ogba, Akure, Ondo State, with dignitaries in attendance including, Wife of CAC General Superintendent, Mrs. Mariam Odejobi, the Regional Superintendent of Odubanjo region, Pastor D.I.O Edoh; the Secretary, Odubanjo region, Pastor S.A Olaiya; DCC Superintendent, Kosofe DCC, Lagos, Pastor Gideon O. Obiwale; DCC Superintendent, Oke-ibukun DCC, Pastor G.O. Oluyede; DCC Superintendent, Revival Centre, Akure, Pastor (Dr.) T.A. Gbegudu; DCC Superintendent, Oluwayan DCC, Akure Pastor M.A. Amole; DCC Superintendent, Ilogbo DCC, Ekiti, Pastor J.A. Abiona among other ministers of God.  


In his short exhortation at the service of songs programme, the DCC Superintendent, Oluwayan DCC, Akure, Pastor M.A. Amole reiterated that the deceased lived a life worthy of emulation, extolling her as "a prayer warrior, a supportive minister’s wife, and a selfless mother."


He described Late Mrs Akeju as a model for other Ministers' wives, charging the congregation to always remember that death is the gateway to eternal life.


The outing and Thanksgiving ceremony for Late Evangelist Mrs. Mercy Olufunke Akeju was held on Friday, 26th August 2022 at C.A.C Ipadabo Jesu DCC Headquarters, Oke-Ogba, Akure.


With ministers of God in attendance, choir ministrations and Royal Shepherd parade, the DCC Superintendent, Revival Centre, Akure, Pastor (Dr.) T.A. Gbegudu, in his sermon, encouraged the family, friends, and the entire church to be of good cheer because of the fulfilled life lived by the deceased who was devoted and useful to God while on earth.


Adding that the late wife of Pastor Akeju was a supportive wife, Pastor Gbegudu admonished everyone to be faithful and committed to God’s work, emphasizing the need to build good and godly character while on earth.


As family, friends, and the entire church participated in the thanksgiving session, the first Son of the deceased appreciated God and the people in attendance.


The Wife of the General Superintendent of CAC Nigeria and Overseas, Mrs. Mariam Odejobi, also graced the occasion with members of CAC All Saints Chapel, General Secretariat Anlugbua Ibadan.


The remains of the deceased was taken to Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State for the final burial.
