CAC Calvary DCC headquarters celebrates 30th Choir Anniversary

Christ Apostolic Church, Mount of Blessing, Calvary Districts' Coordinating Council (DCC) headquarters, Warri, Delta State on Sunday August 14, 2022.

The anniversary themed "LOOKING UNTO JESUS" from the text Hebrews 12:2 held at the church auditorium was witnessed by the church and invited cleric, members of the local church, and invited choristers.

In his welcome speech, Pastor Bukola Komolafe, the church choir master, welcome everyone present in the programme and thank them for coming.

Pastor Bukola also shared short history about the choir saying; "the church is as old as 65 years old; ideally we are suppose to tag 65 years anniversary of the choir existence but because the choir was dissolved and reinstituted in 1992 that is why it's been tagged 30th anniversary."

It was a colourful event where inspirational songs were sang by the host choir and invited guest. Everyone present was touched and blessed by the Lord.

In his textual sermon, the host minister, Calvary DCC Superintendent, Pastor Michael  K. Ehinmode admonished the need for people to consistently look unto Jesus.

The cleric, who higlighted the reasons to always look unto Jesus, stated that, "In the philosophy of life your sight is very, very important to the fulfilment of your destiny. Your sight determines your size. If you don't see it, you can never be it. Whatever you see for yourself about your life, is what you would become."

From his text, Hebrews 12:2, Pastor Ehinmode highlights certain lessons from the passage. "First, as a Christian we are in a race. Second, there is a price to pay if we must win the race. If you are not ready to pay the price, you can never get the price. We are all athlete in the race of life," Pastor Ehinmode said.

"As an athlete one must understand the rules of the game. There is a tendency that you may not finish the race if you don't understand the rules of the game. There is a starting and finishing line to the race of life. And looking unto Jesus in this race, gives us power to complete the race of life," he said.

The Cleric encouraged the audience to fix their eyes on Jesus Christ because that's the only way they can be made strong. He also encourage everyone to run with perseverance, purpose, plan and patience, embrace God's discipline and have the mentality of a soldier.

In conclusion, he said there is benefits in looking unto Jesus. Those who look unto Jesus will never be put to shame (Psalm 35:5) and He will save them.
