The Coordinator, Christ International Divinity College (CINDICO), Pastor Julius Abiodun, has declared that one's spirituality will determine his or her marital choice, stressing the necessity of discipleship in marital relationships.

"There can't be growth without discipleship. Discipleship brings growth. There can't be true discipleship without discipleship in our matrimonial home," he said.

Pastor Abiodun explained this on Thursday, 25th August, 2022 while speaking on the topic "Discipleship: The Process for a Blissful Marriage" at the ongoing 2022 CACYOF International Conference and Thanksgiving Celebration, Ikeji 1 Youth Center (comprising Ondo and Ekiti States) holding at Babalola Memorial International Miracle Camp Ground, Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State.

Citing the text John 8:31, the CINDICO Coordinator who etymologized the word "disciple" as meaning "a learner" in the Greek, noted that, "if you are not teachable, you cannot be a disciple. If you are not teachable, you cannot be a true disciple."

The cleric distinguished that discipleship is different from mentorship, saying that, "you cannot be a person's disciple without being close to them."

"The langauge of the scriptures is discipleship, not mentorship. We are called disciples to make disciples," said Pastor Abiodun.

Lamenting on the erosion of the legacies of fathers of faith, the cleric challenged that, "we can't claim to be fathers and mothers of Christ Apostolic Church if we are not raising Apostolic children and youths."

Pastor Abiodun who described discipleship as the process of growth, noted that, "discipleship is taking believers from childishness to maturity," stating that "when there's no nurturing, it means whatever we have failed to nurture will soon die."
