Teenagers admonished on possessing right mind at Ile-Ife City Teenagers' Summit

It was awesome and highly expository at Ile-Ife City Teenagers' Summit organised by the Teenagers Unit of Christ Apostolic Church Youth Fellowship (CACYOF), Orogun Region (Osun State) held at Ife Districts' Coordinating Council (DCC) on Sunday July 25, 2022.

In his Welcome Address, the Superintendent of Ife DCC, Pastor M. A. Adejumo, represented by Pastor Olayinka who appreciated God for making the long awaited programme a reality, defined for his audience who a teenager is.

The cleric said he was encouraged by the turnout of the teenagers and charged them to be good leaders of tomorrow after which he heartily prayed for them.

Varieties of ministrations took place at the Summit ranging from song ministrations by CAC Temidayo, Ilare Zonal Headquarters Teenagers’ Choir; CAC Praise Chapel, Ile Ife Teenagers' Choir, amongst others.

While ministering on the theme of the programme, "Possessing the Right Mind", the National & Regional Teenagers Coordinator, Pastor Olufemi Unction Timothy, exposited to the teenagers the different kinds of heart, laying emphasis on the sinner’s heart which is characterized by some animal attitudes.

Pastor Timothy exemplified that peacock stands for pride; pig stands for uncleanness; dog stands for immorality/fornication; leopard stands for anger and wrath; snake stands for subtilty; tortoise stands for sluggishness, to mention but few.

The cleric said the expectation of God for these animals is to have them put to death (Rom 6:6, Col 2: 20), advising that the teens must understand who they are in God and never copy sinners.

The Teenagers' Coordinator, who lectured the teens with the aid of multimedia including pictures and videos, identified several wayward things done in the world today, counselling the teenagers not to join them.

A representative of the Christian Leaders Assembly in Yoruba land (CLAY) present at the Summit, Dr. Mrs. Akinlade charged the teenagers on "Integrity in Examination", told the teens the different categories of people in the society - the tribesman, the citizens and the idiots; revealing that idiots do things anyhow, cheat in examination and thus, wreak more havoc in the society.

A courtesy visit was paid to the Superintendent, Ife DCC, Pastor. M.A. Adejumo, who expressed his profound gratitude for the success of the programme, appreciated the organizers, prayed for them and promised his full support for the teenagers.

The programme, which had the several teenagers and youths from other denominations, was also graced by the presence of some members of the Christian Leaders Assembly in Yoruba land (CLAY), represented by Professor (Mrs.) Emma Okon and Dr. (Mrs) Akinlade, both from Obafemi Awolowo University; the Ife axis Youth Coordinator, Pastor M.O. Emmanuel; the Ife axis Teenagers' Coordinator, Sister Imisioluwa Ojo and Pastor Olaniyi from Madakeke.
