There is the general grace of God, and there are specific graces, so to say, that God has bestowed on men for special offices, functions and ministries. One of the men of God, who has received this special grace of God, and also one of the current fathers and leaders in Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas is, Pastor Professor Christopher Olubunmi Oshun.


Pastor Oshun, a Professor and ordained minister of God in Christ Apostolic Church, was born this day, July 26, over 70 years ago. His name is prominent amongst contemporary scholars of Church History and Theology in Universities and Theological Colleges in Nigeria and Overseas.


The erudite Scholar, Academician, Theologian and Pastor, attended St. Jude's School, Lagos (1955-62); Odogbolu Grammar School, Ogun State (1963-67); Olivet Baptist High School, Oyo State (1968-69); University of Ibadan, Oyo State, (1970-73, 1974-75); University of Birmingham (1975-76); University of Exeter (1977-81).


Prof. Oshun, started his academic career as a Lecturer at the Department of Religious Studies, University of Ibadan and later to Lagos State University (LASU).


He became a Professor of Christian Studies and Church History at Lagos State University where he retired. In-between his service and retirement at LASU, he became the pioneer Vice Chancellor of Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU), Ikeji-Arakeji, Osun State; a visiting Professor and Examiner to different Universities within and outside Nigeria.


Pastor Professor C.O. Oshun is currently the Provost, Christ Apostolic Church Theological Seminary; a Fellow of Learned Associations who has several academic publications to his credit.


He is married to Dr. Mrs. Grace Olufunke, with children and grandchildren.
