It was a day of celebrating God's faithfulness as retired President of Christ Apostolic Church, Worldwide, Pastor Abraham Olukunle Akinosun held 50th Marriage Thanksgiving.

The service which was held at CAC Oke-Agbara, Oke Imole Districts' Coordinating Council (DCC), Ibadan on Thursday July 15, 2021 had in attendance the President of CAC Worldwide, Pastor Samuel O. Oladele, General Superintendent, Pastor Emmanuel O. Odejobi, General Evangelist, Prophet Hezekiah O. Hezekiah, General Secretary, Pastor Emmanuel E. Mapur and Finance Director, Pastor Johnson F. Omitinde.

Speaking at the programme, Pastor Akinosun appreciated God for keeping and protecting his family till date.

He noted that they were joined together 50 years ago by Pastor J.B. Odunlami, appreciating God for His protection over him and his wife because many people who witnessed the wedding ceremony are no longer alive.

"We thank God for all the stations we have worked. Whenever God tells me 'don't be afraid I'm with you,' that means there is a big battle coming on the way, but it's sure that I will overcome. I want to appreciate Baba Olowere for his love for me. I have known him since he was at Adamasingba. He was behind the planning of this programme. We actually thought we will just come to him and he will pray for us around 6am. I appreciate the church authority and members of staff of CAC Secretariat who are well represented, he stated.

Also speaking at the programme, Mrs. Victoria Akinosun said they got married exactly on Thursday July 15, 1971.

Mrs. Akinosun along with some other people rendered a song to appreciate his husband, Pastor Akinosun and God for the blessings received so far.

Ministering at the programme on the topic "Thanksfulnes and Gratitude to God," the DCC Superintendent of CAC Oke-Ado DCC, Pastor G.S. Dada said it is good to have a spirit of thanks, saying thanksgiving shouldn't be occasional, it should be at all times.

"For all the Lord has done for us we must allow the spirit of gratitude. We must not harden our heart from giving thanks to God. When you have ungrateful heart it makes you to be selfish. There is nothing that would make you to enjoy the joy of salvation than the spirit of gratitude. You are committing sin against God if you have spirit of ingratitude. It is an indictment against humanity not to thank God. From Genesis to Revelation, we are given the order to show our gratitude to God from our heart," he said.

Pastor Dada stressed that one of the things God wants from us is to give thanks to Him, saying that whether we are rich or not, we must learn how to appreciate God and know that everything we have and our situation is from God.

According to him, appreciating God means you recognise God as the provider of what you have or have achieved.
