Pastor Arijesuyo, CAC Pastor killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen finally laid to rest

Pastor (Dr.) A.E. Arijesuyo of Christ Apostolic Church, Glory of God Assembly, Akure who was killed by suspected Fulani herdsmen has been finally laid to rest at his residence in Akure.


The late Pastor Arijesuyo was shot dead last month while returning from an event by suspected Fulani herdsmen in the Iwaraja end of the Ilesa-Akure Expressway in Osun State.


Pastor Arijesuyo was a right hand man and partner to Pastor (Dr.) J. M. Owoyemi in the ministry. Until his death, he was a Deputy Registrar/HOD Guidance and Counseling at the Federal University of Technology Akure and at the same time Assembly Pastor at CAC Glory of God Assembly, FUTA Area, Akure. He is survived by his wife, Prophetess Sarah Arijesuyo, 5 children. A Lawyer, Barrister Biodun Arijesuyo; a Chemical Engineer/Businessman, Evang. (Engr.) Opeyemi Arijesuyo; a Medical Doctor, Doctor ‘Gbemi Arijesuyo; a Digital Marketing Executive, Oluwabusayomi Arijesuyo; and a Nigerian Air Force Officer and Pilot in training, Ifeoluwa Arijesuyo and seven grandchildren.


Before he was buried, a Wake service was organized for him at a field opposite his residence. Sermon was given by the District Superintendent of CAC Oke Lisa District, Pastor Ajigboteleda. The children of the deceased at the service summarized the life of Pastor Arijesuyo under four topics: God, Family, Service and people. They noted that the late icon was solely committed to these four aspects of his life and he never failed in putting his very best into them. The children presented a song titled ‘In Christ alone’


Due to his life of integrity, impact and dedication to humanity, Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) organized a Commendation Service for him. The service was held at Theodore Idibiye Francis Auditorium at 9:00am on Friday, 29th January, 2021. 


The Registrar of the institution,  Dr. Arifalo said the loyalty of Pastor Arijesuyo was well felt, saying that he was a friend, colleague, brother and father to so many and was committed to seeing the best in people.


The Dean, Student Affairs, FUTA, Professor G. E. Onibi said the deceased was called Baba because he was so close to all, he counseled both staff and students in and outside the university.


Church Service was held for Pastor Arijesuyo at CAC Glory of God Assembly, FUTA Area, Akure at 11am on same day. While ministering at the programme on the topic “If death is this wicked, is there hope for the dead?”,  Pastor E. E. Aladesaye said it is the willingness of God that Pastor Arijesuyo should die in such way. 


He said there is hope if we die in Christ, urging everyone to repent and  live everyday as if it is the last day. 


Notable personalities in attendance at the programme are Prof Gbenga Onibi (Dean, Student Affairs, FUTA), Venerable (Prof.) Olasehinde, Dr. & Dr. Mrs. Niyi, Pastor F. O. Adetula, Immediate Past Registrar, Federal Polythecnic, Ile Oluji, Pastor Pro. Olukunle, Members of Staff, FUTA, Reverends and ministers from other ministries, all Ministers from C.A.C. Oke Lisa, Akure, Regent of Akunu Akoko, Members of CASSON, Members of C.A.C. Oke Isegun and many others.


While giving the vote of thanks, the first son of Pastor Arijesuyo, Barrister Biodun Arijesuyo thanked the church for the support and the seed of honour being sown. 


He thanked FUTA for the platform of service they gave to his late father.


He said the family is presently making an arrangement with the Ondo State Government on insecurity and hoping to see the Osun State government about the road margin in Ondo and Osun States, adding that he wants it to be on record that the passing away of his Daddy brought about a change to the insecurity of the State.
