CAC 2021 Watchword: If we want to experience God like our fathers, we must be ready to do what our fathers did- Pastor Adegoke

The year 2020, from all indications, proved to be a year that people would always recount, churches inclusive, hence the need to show gratitude to God for scaling through the year 2020.

This was the case at Christ Apostolic Church, Victory Chapel, Ikosi, Ketu, at her crossover night service on Thursday.

The atmosphere was a joyful one, as ministers and members of the church were grateful to God for the privilege of seeing the New Year.

The service, which should have started at around 9:00pm and run through 12 midnight, started 8:00pm and ended at 11:00pm, because of the government-imposed curfew resulting from the current situation of the country as regards COVID-19.

Nevertheless, prayers were said in faith to bid the year 2020 goodbye and usher in the New Year – 2021.

Admonishing the church from 1 Kings 8:57, being Christ Apostolic Church Worldwide’s watchword for the year 2021, the Assembly Pastor, Pastor Raphael Adegoke, during the new year message, said that if we – the church, in this generation, want to experience God, the way our fathers (in faith) did, we must be ready to do what our fathers did.

In his points, he explained that some of the reasons why our fathers experienced and enjoyed the power of God in a great way were, their wholehearted service to the Lord, detestation for sin and their focus on the affairs of the kingdom.

“When you pursue the desires of God and have the mind of the Kingdom, the blessings of God will follow you”. He said.

As the church’s usual practice, the theme for the year was also unveiled; the year, 2021 was declared as “the year of perfection”.

Being “the year of perfection”, according to the Assembly Pastor, the theme coincides with the church’s 7th anniversary, which will also be coming up on the 7th of February, this year.
