Christ Apostolic Church, Itire Districts’ Coordinating Council (DCC), Itire, Lagos, on Sunday November 8, 2020 held appreciation service for the President of the mission, Pastor Abraham Olukunle Akinosun.

The glamorous celebration of the living legend which came less than a month after his 75th birthday celebration was held at Itire DCC headquarters in Lagos.

In an interview with CAC News, the DCC Superintendent of Itire DCC, Pastor Gideon O. Oladokun said the President was invited just to appreciate him for his retirement.

According to him, apart from the fact that Pastor Akinosun has being a father in the Lord to him since 1984, he had once been a District Superintendent at Itire District for nine years.

Pastor Oladokun stated that the service would have been done around October, but the COVID-19 pandemic had been an interruption. All the same, he was grateful to God that it was eventually held and was glorious.

“I wish him well as he is retiring. I wish him more strength, power and enablement. I wish him long life with his wife. I pray that God will continue to renew his strength just as the Bible says in Psalm 103. As he retires I pray he will not tire so that he will always be there when we need him for his fatherly prayers, counseling and consultation,” he said.

Pastor Oladokun added that CAC will miss Pastor Akinosun for his humility, quietness and his smiles.

In his exact words, he said "CAC will miss his humility, quietness and the way he smiles. CAC will also miss his fairness in taking decision because God endowed him with wisdom. To me he took two major decisions that would be very rare among leaders, that is, the appointment of Pastor Samuel O. Oladele as the General Superintendent and Prophet Hezekiah O. Oladeji as the General Evangelist. Pastor Akinosun is very appreciating; he doesn’t say any gift is too small.  If you give him any gift irrespective of how small it is, he will collect it and say the motive behind it is the most important. He doesn’t hide his feelings; he always says his mind.”

The Secretary of Itire DCC, Pastor Samuel Ojo also went down memory lane to recount how Pastor Akinosun assumed duties as District Superintendent at Itire without having office to operate, no official Induction Service except brief introduction to the congregation.

He noted that Pastor Akinosun’s stay at Itire witnessed lots of developments such as aggressive evangelism and Church planting with over 87 branches, over 47 Pastors and many male and female Evangelists, National Sunday School trophy won twice, construction of official residence for the Superintendent. In his statement, he added that Pastor Akinosun is easy to approach,  ready to listen and attend to Ministers welfare, unperturbed in challenging situations, adroit administrator, gentle and humble to the core.

The Cleric noted that  Pastor Akinosun's 9 years administration at Itire DCC was progressive and the church was happy to be associated with his rise to the peak as President of CAC.
