God does not promise to answer our prayers because... - Pastor Oladele

The General Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church, Worldwide, Pastor Samuel O. Oladele has said God never promised to answer our prayers because we don't know how to pray.

While quoting Romans chapter 8 verse 26, which says "In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express," Pastor Oladele said it is the Holy Spirit that teaches us how to pray.

The General Superintendent said this while giving the Farewell Message at the grand finale of the just concluded 2020 Virtual Pastors' Conference.

He further said the prayer God will answer is not the prayer we offer, but the prayer offered by the Holy Spirit through us, saying that the church prays today, but not in the manner taught by Jesus Christ.

Pastor Oladele said at times we waste our words because of the type of prayers we pray, noting that sometimes the way we pray shows our level of spirituality.

According to him, 'let thy kingdom come' is the prayer of the sons and daughters of the Kingdom.

The Cleric said 'let thy kingdom come' is an expression of the heartbeat of God which is evangelism, mission work, etc.

He stressed that "The coming of His kingdom is the chief end of Christianity. Our chief end is not prosperity, healing or blessing. They are ends, but not the chief end. 'Let thy Kingdom come' is acknowledging the fact that the world we live in has departed from God. When you look at the high level of immorality you will know this is not the world God created," Pastor Oladele stated.
