In response to the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown and in a bid to mitigate the hardship people might be facing in a time like this, Christ Apostolic Church, City of David, United Kingdom and Kofo Asaaju (KOA) Foundation in partnership with Fresh FM, Ibadan, recently distributed palliatives to vulnerable and needy Nigerians in Oyo State. Also, the foundation partnered with CAC Ondo DCC to give palliatives to some members of CAC in Ondo.

Each palliative package contained a sizeable bag of rice, beans, two packets of spaghetti, vegetable oil, two tomato paste and seasoning.

KOA Foundation which is a registered non governmental organization is pioneered by Lady Evangelist 'Toyin Oluwaniyi-Asaaju, wife of the Minister in Charge of CAC City of David, Pastor Isaac Bolarinwa Asaaju. KOA Foundation was established in 2018 to support families in areas of health and mental wellness.

Pastor Asaaju told CAC News that CAC City of David and KOA Foundation have been supporting the poor and needy in different states in Nigeria and their focus is to reach out to Christ Apostolic Church assemblies in all 36 states in Nigeria.

He noted that KOA Foundation intends to cover more states in Nigeria provided they can identify more Christ Apostolic Church assemblies with good structures to support in reaching out to widows, physically  and mentally challenged people.

Pastor Asaaju further said that in line with World Health Organisation, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and  government directives, KOA Foundation intends to ensure good hand hygiene, and strict adherence to social distancing when palliative packages are distributed at designated Christ Apostolic Church assemblies within states.

According to him, states already covered are Oyo State (200 palliative packages), Ondo State - 80 - 100 (Palliative Packages),Ekiti State (110 Palliative Packages) and Ogun state which is in progress.

"A circular was disseminated among CAC assemblies in United Kingdom that our President, Pastor Abraham O. Akinosun has directed all assembly Pastors to distribute palliatives to the needy in their congregation. The circular which was signed by the General Secretary, Pastor Emmanuel E. Mapur stated that the church authority encouraged all clergy and the laity to hold fast to Jesus Christ. So when my wife and I received the circular, she decided to include the poor and needy in CAC assemblies to benefit from KOA Foundation COVID-19 palliative package," Pastor Asaaju stated.

Meanwhile, CAC Assemblies in Nigeria can contact Pastor Asaaju or his wife vide their phone numbers or email for partnership in order to get KOA Foundation COVID-19 palliative package.
