The atmosphere was electrifying and scintillating on Sunday March 15, 2020 when the choir of Christ Apostolic Church, Yaba Districts' Coordinating Council (DCC) Headquarters, Yaba, Lagos, held the 2020 edition of the annual Mega Choir Concert.

It was a remarkable Sunday evening of the best of musical renditions that cut across genres such as classical, contemporary, spirituals, hymns and solos music.

The Mega Choral Concert assembled over 400 voices from different assemblies in CAC who thrilled choral music lovers across denominations at CAC Yaba, Lagos.

Consistently staged since March 1998, the concert has grown into a yearly spiritual feast that everyone looks forward to with interest. The choir draws membership from many CAC assemblies all over Lagos, including CAC Ebute-Metta, CAC Ligali, CAC Oke-Imole, CAC Ebute-Elefun, CAC Itire, CAC Oluti and CAC Oke Igbala Ketu, among others.

The programme had in attendance the General Superintendent of CAC Worldwide, Pastor Samuel O. Oladele, Finance Director, Pastor Johnson F. Omitinde, Akinyele Regional Superintendent, Pastor Moses O. Yusuff, CAC Worldwide Music Director, Pastor Tope Dada, former Vice Chancellor, Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU), Pastor (Prof.) and Deaconess Sola Fajana and many others.

The choir performed songs like "O thou deep love of Jesus", " Jesu to fiyan" by Muyiwa Akintola, "My way is cloudy (Negro Spiritual)" by Fela Sowande, "Grateful" by Bidemi Oyesanya, "You are the living word" by Fred Hammond and Noel Hall, "Baba E Seun" by Peter Akinpelu, and "Dodimu" by Yemi Akinpelu among others.

While ministering at the Programme, the General Superintendent of CAC Worldwide, Pastor Oladele said anyone that desires prominence or extension of frontiers must always praise God.

He noted that not all battles of life can be won through prayers, saying that prayer is good and CAC is a praying church but we must also be a praising church.

According to him, so many battles were won in the scripture with praise, citing the example of the walls of Jericho.

Pastor Oladele said at times Satan tempts us not to praise God by reminding us of minuses in our lives, adding that whenever he (Satan) comes to tempt us we should count not our losses, but our blessings.

The Chairperson, Mass Choir Planning Committee, Deaconess Folashade Jacobs said the Mass Choir Concert was conceived by Pastor Rotimi Olusheye and Choir Master of Yaba DCC, Elder S.K.O. Annan as led by the  Holy Spirit in 1997.

She disclosed that this edition of the concert is a prelude to the new album which will be released by CAC Yaba Choir in October to commemorate the church's 80th anniversary.

Deaconess Jacobs noted that this would be the first time in the history of the church mass choir that the number two citizen of CAC Worldwide, Pastor S.O. Oladele would be guest preacher.
