Christ Apostolic Church Theological Seminary (CACTS), Ile-Ife on Friday November 22, 2019 held her 38th Convocation ceremony with 167 students awarded Certificate, Diploma and Degree in Theology.

At a programme which was held at the Chapel of Peace Auditorium, CACTS, Ile-Ife, 17 students graduated with Bachelor of Theology, eight with Diploma in Theology and eight with Certificate in Theology in the regular programme of 2017/2018 Academic Session.

In the 2018/2019 Academic Session, regular programme, 36 students graduated with Bachelor in Theology, 11 with Diploma in Theology and 12 with Certificate in Theology.

Also, in the 2018/2019 part-time programme (Weekend and Sandwich), 52 students graduated with Bachelor in Theology, 10 graduated with Diploma in Theology and 15 graduated with Certificate in Theology.

The Provost of CACTS, Ile-Ife, Pastor Stephen O.A. Afolabi while delivering his speech  urged the graduands to be diligent to present themselves approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

He further stated that the graduands should shun profane and idle babblings, for they will increase to more ungodliness and their message will spread like cancer.

"Flee also youthful lusts, but pursue righteousness, faith, love peace, with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, apt to teach, patient, in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the  truth," Pastor Afolabi stated.

According to the Cleric, decrees earned from CAC Theological Seminary, Ile-Ife are well recognized and accepted for further studies in both university and other renowned theological institutions both within and outside Nigeria.

Also speaking at the programme, the Chairman, CACTS Governing Council, Pastor E.S. Famuyide said all graduands should exhibit the act of digging the Bible deeper, stating that they must live and maintain holy living.

Pastor Famuyide also advised them to preach the gospel without adulteration or sentiment, urging them to pray like the Apostles and CAC founding fathers.

"Be innovative, do not follow unnecessary, traditions that are baseless in the Bible. Keep your family intact and be heavenly focused. Emphasize the primacy of holiness and shun the quest for materialism which is the order of the day now. Always keep eternity in view irrespective of challenges. It is not over, until it is over," he Cleric said.

The President of CAC Worldwide, Pastor Abraham O. Akinosun implored the graduands to let the Bible be their chart by which they will make every decision.

Pastor Akinosun who was ably represented by the General Secretary, Pastor Emmanuel E. Mapur told the graduands they should study and meditate on the word of God daily and learn to think biblically in regard to every part of life.

"The older you get, the greater temptation this world system will be. Temptation is going to come at you roaring. Jesus was tempted so every creature in heaven and earth could understand that He is the Christ, the Conqueror. It is worth taking note of how He handled temptation. It is important to note that Jesus was led out into the desert by the Holy Spirit. Graduands, you must be asking God to give you sensitivity to the Holy Spirit's leading and correction as you prayerfully read the word of God," Pastor Akinosun said.
