Six things you probably don't know about JABU's newly appointed Vice Chancellor, Professor Sonaike

The foremost entrepreneurial university in Nigeria, Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU), just recently appointed Professor Kola Sonaike as her Vice Chancellor.


Professor Kola Sonaike, Chair & Professor of Business at American Intercontinental University, Houston, Texas, U.S.A., has been appointed the Vice Chancellor of Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU) effective September 1, 2019. He replaces Professor Sola Fajana who completed his tenure some months ago.



Meanwhile, there are important facts the whole world need to know about the new Vice Chancellor of JABU. Below are the six things you don't know about Professor Sonaike;



       
1. He earned a Ph. D in Management from the University of Port Harcourt and a DBA in Leadership & Organizational Behaviour from the University of Phoenix, Phoenix, Arizona, U.S.A.



2.He is currently in the last quarter of a Doctor of Ministry (D. Min) degree program in Theology from South University, Savanna , Georgia, U. S. A.




3.Professor Sonaike earned both the MBA and the MILR from the University of Ibadan. He earned a BSc. in Business Administration from the University of Lagos and a BSc. In Petroleum Engeneering from the University of Ibadan.

 


4.Prior to veering into academics, Professor Sonaike worked globally in the oil and gas industry for 30 years , 29 of which he spent with ExxonMobil Production Company from where he retired voluntarily in 2006 as a senior executive. He joined American Intercontinental University just after leaving ExxonMobil.



5. Professor Sonaike is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Safety Professionals . He was the first African to be certified by the American Board of Certified Safety Professionals . He has been a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management since 1982.

 

6.Professor Sonaike is currently the Senior Pastor of Christ Apostolic Church, Mercyfield, in Houston, Texas, U.S.A. He has been the Superintendent of Texas Districts Coordinating Council (DCC) since 2016. He was the superintendent of Texas Zone from 2012 to 2016.

  1. Yes, a man of God, man of academics and man of productivity. He his more than the task giving him as a Vice-Chancellor.
    He has been working for God as I know him to be the head of Drama unit in the CAC All Youth Fellowship Easter Camp in the 80s.
