Christians all over the globe have been urged to always totally forgive irrespective of the offense against them because 99.99 percent forgiveness is not acceptable by God.
The Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church, Amuwo Odofin Districts' Coordinating Council (DCC), FESTAC Lagos, Pastor Joe Jacobs who stated this on Sunday May 6, 2019 while preaching on the theme "Grace of Forgiveness" said whoever forgives 99.99% cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
He said that forgiveness is divine and for forgiveness to be acceptable, God sent His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross of Calvary.
According to him, God expects us to forgive others and anyone who forgives will have peace of mind.
Pastor Joe Jacobs said the two people you must forgive are yourself and people who sin against you.
"Forgive yourself. If God can forgive you, you should forgive yourself. Forgive those who sin against you. It has a lot of implications if you don't. Forgive your neighbours, your parents, forgive your spouse. Parents forgive your children. Forgive unbelievers around you as Jesus forgave those who crucified him. Approach people with the mind of God. Forgive ignorant people. Forgive your siblings. Forgive your debtors.
Forgive your pastors because men of God are also human beings," the Cleric said.
He noted that Signs Of Genuine Forgiveness are when you don't keep records of evil, when you don't talk about the sin anymore except when the person goes back to it, when you don't revenge and when you show usual favour.
While commenting on Benefits of Forgiveness, the former Youth Officer of CAC Worldwide said: "if you forgive, your own sin will be forgiven. When you forgive you have avoided temptation, God will deliver you from evil, you will have peace of mind and the church will expand."
