The General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, Dr. D.K. Olukoya has stated that salvation does not exempt any Christian from troubles of life but  gives power to overcome every battle.

Dr. Olukoya noted this recently while preaching on the topic "Fighting the powers that fight your parents" at "A Day with Dr. Olukoya" programme organised by Christ Apostolic Church, Vineyard of Mercy DCC Headquarters, Sabo-Yaba Lagos.

He said: "anyone who tells you when you give your life to Christ you won't have any problem is lying to you. Every battle in your life has an agenda as a Christian. The battles are there because there are good virtues in your life. If your battle is stronger than you and you don't run to Christ, it will overcome you. You need to run to Christ who can win all battles," the cleric said.

According to him, there are different kinds of battles, but there is one battle that turns winner to failure, pastors to past tense, hero to zero, goldmine to dustbin, eagle to chicken and winner to executive  loser, stating that it is the  generational battle.

Dr. Olukoya also said that "family battles can be transferred from generation to generation, even the medical practitioners know this. Every man will fight his battle. A pastor can pray for you, but he will go to his house. You will be left to face the battle when you get home. Whether you like it or not, you must fight the battle that overcame your parents. The battle does not fear your anointing as a pastor."

He noted that the good news is that the generational battle was part of what Jesus Christ nailed to the cross which indicated that there is an assurance of victory for everyone who belongs to Jesus.

The cleric said anyone who wants to overcome generational battle must give his or her life to Christ, repent from all sins and engage in warfare through violent prayer.
