Christ Apostolic Church, Owode District, Light of the World
Zone Ikorodu Lagos on Sunday December 30, 2018 consecrated the newly appointed
Elders and Deaconesses of the district.
The service which was held at Light of the World Zonal
Ikorodu was entitled “Your Role in Kingdom Service.”
A total number of four Elders and six Deaconesses were consecrated.
While preaching on the theme “Your Role in Kingdom Service,”
the Zonal Superintendent of CAC Light of the World Zone, Pastor B.O. Wajero said
Elders and Deaconesses are very important in the church and their service should
be carried out faithfully and effectively.
He further stated that Elders and Deaconesses are appointed to
be of help to the ministers, adding that instead of the work to be heavy on the
neck of the ministers, the Elders and Deaconesses are meant to assist the
ministers in their ministerial duties.
According to Pastor Wajero, the newly appointed Elders and
Deaconesses were prayerfully chosen having gone through necessary trainings.
Speaking on the roles of Elders and Deaconesses in the
church, Pastor Wajero who formally just retired from active service noted that
they are to assist the minster in the growth of the church and kingdom service.
He added; “In all contributions in the church Elders and
Deaconesses have to be number one. You must be role models to the church. Elders
and Deaconesses must keep the secret of the church and be faithful to the core.
They are to cater for the need of the
minister and must not rebel.”
