The Christ Apostolic Church Council of Publicity Secretaries (CACCOPS) has concluded celebration of its Golden Jubilee with a thanksgiving service at CAC, Itire DCC headquarters, Lagos on Sunday July 29, 2018.
Preaching at the thanksgiving service, the DCC Superintendent of Itire, Pastor Gideon Oladokun, said publicity urge today's Church to embrace publicity because it is an indispensable tool in the propagation of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
According to him, gone are the days when churches were conservative about publicity, the complex nature of today's society makes it mandatory for churches to blow the gospel trumpet to as wider audience as possible.
Speaking on why the celebration was done at Itire, Pastor Ademisoye Alawode, the Director of Publicity, CAC Worldwide, who also doubles as the Chairman of CACCOPS said the council held its thanksgiving at Itire Assembly because the man God used to plant Itire Assembly, Pastor Benjamin Okpaise, was the man whose pioneering work and selfless service to the Church, led to the establishment of publicity department in the Church, 50 years ago.
The council therefore felt obligated to honour the man who started many laudable programmes that are still running in the church till date.
