By Rachael Oke The
2026 edition of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Pastoral Leadership
Retreat (PLR) commenced today, Monday, March 2, 2026, at Joseph Ayo
Babalola University, Ikeji Arakeji, Osun State. The current session is
designated as Stream 5, Batch 1 of the leadership training programme.
The
retreat themed “Capacity Building for Effective Ministry,” is focused
on strengthening the capacity of church leadership, bringing together
church leaders for intensive ministerial and administrative training.
Over
time, the church’s principal officers, regional superintendents, and
DCC superintendents have greatly benefited from the programme. The
current batch comprises leaders at the district level, particularly
district superintendents.
The PLR initiative began in 2022 as
part of the strategic vision of the current CAC administration led by
the President, Samuel Olusegun Oladele. The leadership training
programme forms one of the key component of his three-point agenda
unveiled upon assuming office in 2021.
In the welcome address,
the President, who was ably represented by the General Secretary, Pastor
Emmanuel Mapur, expressed his confidence in the outcome of the training
saying,
"It is our firm belief that the experience gained in
this training will help us make Christ Apostolic Church more productive
and prep us for the revival that we all hope and pray for."
The
retreat is facilitated by the Christ Apostolic Church Leadership Academy
(CACLA), an institution established by the CAC authority to equip
pastors in leadership development, organisational behaviour, the
church’s vision and mission, doctrinal tenets, constitutional matters,
as well as health and wellbeing.
Over the years, the academy has
significantly strengthened leadership effectiveness, improved project
implementation, and enhanced administrative discipline within the
church. Participants have consistently testified to the transformative
impact of the training.
Two additional batches are scheduled to
hold later in the year — in May and November — and pastors within the
specified cadre are encouraged to participate. Photos speak.
