CAC House of Prayer celebrates 20 years of God’s faithfulness

It was a day of thanksgiving, reflection, and renewed commitment to the Great Commission as Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) House of Prayer, Benin, Edo State, celebrated its 20th Anniversary with the theme “Go Ye.”

The milestone event, which drew participants from far and near, began with a high-praise session that set the atmosphere for heartfelt gratitude to God for two decades of spiritual growth, service, and impact. The Regional Good Women Choir, led by Mrs. Ekpan, and the host choir rendered powerful ministrations that lifted the congregation in worship.

Distinguished Guests and Media Presence

The anniversary was chaired by Elder Godday Omofuma and his wife, while several dignitaries and ministers of the gospel—including Mrs. Menta and Evangelist Good Friday Ukuire from Delta State—graced the occasion. Pastor Ogbomode (rtd) was also present to pronounce blessings on the congregation.

The significance of the event was further highlighted by the presence of major media outlets, including Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS) and Independent Television (ITV), which captured the historic celebration.

A Journey of Faith

Pastor Victor Ehime, Chairman of the Planning Committee, gave a brief history of the church. He recounted how CAC House of Prayer began in September 2005 with fewer than 30 worshippers in a small store at Ikpoba Hill. Over the years, the church has grown into a cathedral, a testament to God’s faithfulness.

Inspiring Sermon

Delivering the sermon on the theme “Go Ye,” the Superintendent of House of Prayer DCC, Pastor Princewill Aimienoho, Hanson Regional Revivalist and Chairman of House of Prayer DCC, drew from Mark 16:14–17. He emphasized that the mandate to “Go Ye” is for committed believers who have not turned back from the faith. He charged the church to see planting new congregations not as a business venture but as a divine assignment to disciple souls. “In discipleship,” he stressed, “our character comes before conversation.”

Fundraising for Evangelism

The highlight of the anniversary was the fundraising session in support of church planting and evangelism. Elder Omofuma, alongside other attendees, made generous contributions to advance the mission of the church.

A Glorious Conclusion

The celebration ended with joy, prayers, and blessings from Pastor Ogbomode (rtd), leaving the congregation with a renewed sense of hope and anticipation for the future.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF CHRIST APOSTOLIC CHURCH HOUSE OF PRAYER

Christ Apostolic Church House of Prayer started as a Prayer Fellowship on Wednesday, the 13   day of July 2005 in a small store at No 49 Benin-Agbor Road, a building along the express road which was freely given to us by the landlady Madam Dolly Omoregie.

The fellowship grew until it became clear to all that there was the need for members of the fellowship to hold Sunday services. Consequently, the members of the fellowship came together and held the first Sunday service on the 25    of September 2005 and thus the fellowship was transformed into an Assembly with the Christ Apostolic Church called “CAC House of Prayer” with them then Evangelist Princewill Aimienoho as the Assembly Minister. CAC House of Prayer was then under Edo Districts Coordinating Council and Pastor Philip E Afemikhe and Pastor A.C Otugo (Both of Blessed memory) were District superintendent and DCC Superintendent respectively.

As The Lord pleases, in less than five calendar years, the assembly moved to this present location, when the  first auditorium (which is now the children auditorium) was completed and dedicated on the 30  the of May 2009.

As the Lord would have it, CAC House of Prayer was granted the status of a Center by Pastor J.A Ayedun the then Zonal superintendent of CAC ogbeni Zone on 12  the November, 2017 and thus the assembly which began a little over decade ago earlier began the journey of elevation progress.

Consequently, House of Prayer Center with three other churches were later granted districts statuses namely, Shiloh District, Mercy District, Dominion District on the 7   the of June 2018 by the authority of the church to operate under Ogbeni Zone.

However, with the Fatherly consent of Pastor E.O Bada the  Ogbeni DCC Superintendent, the House of Prayer zone was granted Zonal status with three districts as mentioned above earlier by the Church Authority on the 2  and of August, 2021.

As the Lord willed, House of Prayer Zone was graciously upgraded by the Church Authority to the status of a DCC with immediate effect on the 25 the of May 2022.
