Christ Apostolic Church, Mokola Districts' Coordinating Council (DCC) in Ibadan, welcomed Pastor Samson Olawale Gbuyiro as its new Superintendent in a special service.
Pastor Gbuyiro, whose tenure as Director of Youth Affairs of CAC Nigeria and Overseas concluded in December 2024 after reaching the statutory age of 50, was subsequently transferred to Mokola DCC by the CAC Authority to serve as DCC Superintendent, succeeding Pastor M.K. Oloruntoba, who was transferred to CAC Sabo Oke DCC, Ilorin, Kwara State.
Pastor Gbuyiro received a heroic welcome at the service held on Monday, April 22, 2025, at CAC Oke-Ayo, Mokola DCC Headquarters, Ibadan.
The church's delegates, including Good Women, CACMA, youth and Royal Shepherd members, turned out in large numbers to give Pastor Gbuyiro a heroic welcome, reminiscent of Jesus Christ's triumphal entry into Jerusalem.
Upon arriving at the church gate, Pastor Gbuyiro stepped out of his car, accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Esther Oluwaseun Gbuyiro, members of CAC Chapel of Grace, the Director of Youth Affairs, Pastor Peter Olanrewaju and many others.
Ministering on the topic 'Let Everyone Take a Beam,' Pastor Gbuyiro, drawing from 2 Kings 6:1-5, urged clerics and members of Oke-Ayo and Mokola DCC to embrace teamwork, emphasizing that God's work is better accomplished together (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12).
He added that God's work is more effective when brethren collaborate, and team spirit fuels personal involvement and commitment.
"The most effective way to accomplish God's work is through teamwork. Every individual, regardless of stature, plays a vital role. In God's eyes, each person has a unique duty. Results are achieved when we work together. No matter how exceptional one person may be, they can only win individual accolades, not a collective championship. God's work requires a team effort, not individual credit,' Pastor Gbuyiro emphasized."
Referencing 2 Kings 4:38 and 1 Samuel 19:20, Pastor Gbuyiro highlighted the sons of the prophets' exemplary dedication to God's work, urging the congregation to emulate their commitment.
Drawing lessons from the sons of the prophets, Pastor Gbuyiro emphasized the importance of identifying needs and getting involved. He encouraged DCC members to discover their roles in meeting the kingdom's needs, citing 1 Corinthians 12:4-7.
He further emphasized the importance of personal involvement in kingdom work, noting that, “everyone's participation is vital to achieving common goals and safeguarding against spiritual attacks (Nehemiah 4:13-23). Just as every part of the human body has a function, each person has a role to play. The Clergyman encouraged the members to make their lives, time, and presence count."
Pastor Gbuyiro urged them to make a personal commitment, emphasizing that individual dedication and involvement are expressions of love for God and loyalty to His work, as reflected in John 14:15.
"Share your ideas and insights for the benefit of all (Proverbs 15:22) Don't keep good ideas to yourself. You can't see best version of your ideas until you share them. By working together and contributing our unique gifts and talents, we can achieve great things for God's kingdom," Pastor Gbuyiro told Clerics and members of Mokola DCC.
The service concluded with a group photograph featuring Pastor Gbuyiro and his wife, as clerics and members of the DCC expressed their joy and anticipation of a revival in the church.
