The auditorium of Christ Apostolic Church, Mountain of Blessing, Adekitan District headquarters, Lagos was filled with melodies and harmonies as the 55th Annual Choir Festival & Thanksgiving, themed 'Exalt The King,' held on Sunday, 20th October, 2024

The musical festival started with a mini concert featuring an orchestra that set the tone for the grand event. The choir, led by their revered conductors, Guest Conductor, Mr. Segun Soyinka; the Choir Master, Mr. Olaniyi J. Ilori (FCA); and the Music Director, Elder Michael Aladejebi, presented a repertoire of sacred melodies. Among which are 'Olorun ayo a tun de o' by Ayo Ajayi; 'Heralds of Christ' by George Warren; 'Praise the Lord' by Dr. Ayo Oluranti; 'Let the Name of the Lord be praised' by Dr. Albert Oikelome; 'Hallelujah Amen' by Handel George; and many others.

The Special Guest and preacher of the day was the Assistant Regional Music Director of Christ Apostolic Church, Pearce Region, Elder Tope Amudipe who spoke on the theme 'Exalt The King', with text from Psalm 99.

He reminded the congregation of the essential Christian duty to exalt God in every aspect of life.

He emphasized that exalting the Lord is not merely an act reserved for worship through singing and dancing, but a fundamental expression of faith that should reflect in our daily existence.

Elder Amudipe asserted that as Christians, the call to exalt God should be instinctive. "We do not need anyone to ask us to exalt God; it is what every believer should inherently know," he declared. He further explained that exalting God involves making conscious choices—choosing faith over fear and confidence over confusion, especially during challenging times.

The Erudite Music Instructor underscored that true exaltation of God is evident when believers remain focused on Him amidst turmoil. "When you stay centered in God during times of trouble, you are actively exalting Him," he said. He encouraged the congregation to choose righteousness, even when faced with difficult decisions, highlighting that such choices reflect a deep commitment to exalting the divine.

A heartfelt vote of thanks was delivered by the Music Director, Elder Michael Aladejebi who appreciated the District Superintendent/Minister-in-Charge of the church, Pastor J. Ola. Oyepetun; the Choir Patrons and Patronesses; Board of Elders; Deaconesses, other departments in the church, and all friends of the choir; for their unwaivering support through the years.

As the program drew to a close, the voices of the congregation resonated through the sanctuary, united in the rendition of C.A.C.H.B 568 (Tune: Blaenwern).

The festival was graced by family and friends, and dignitaries including the District Superintendent, Pastor J. Ola Ayepetun; Curate, Pastor Daniel Revelations; Music Director of Akilling Region, Pastor (Dr.) Tosin Akinpelu; Secretary, Akinyele Regional Choir, Elder Jerry Awofodun; Treasurer, Akinyele Regional Choir, Elder Olusegun Akinloye; past members of the Choir; and many others.
