The Regional Superintendent, Christ Apostolic Church Orogun region, Pastor E. S. Famuyide has said that the main purpose and fundamental reason for the creation of man is to have fellowship with God.

He continued that every other aspect "of our lives fall in line with having fellowship with Him."

The Orogun Regional Superintendent said this at the recently held annual Truth Conference 2023 marking the 11th anniversary of CAC Praise Chapel, Ile Ife, under the leadership of Pastor Unction Timothy Olufemi.

Giving an exhortation in a session tagged "Fatherly Blessing" part of the one-week of programmes held for the conference, Pastor Famuyide exposited on the theme of the conference "Greater Works" where he told the congregation that the purpose of man's creation is to have relationship with God.

He further told the congregation that one of the main factors that determines success or failure in life is "who mentors you," saying that "who you follow determines who follows you."

Taking examples from the book of second Kings, the clergyman highlighted and compared the lives of Elisha and Gehazi who according to scriptures, had opposite personalities that stand as positive and negative models respectively.

He explained how that Elisha had the mind of doing greater works which was why he asked for the double portion of the power of Elijah which he got, furthering that while Elijah did eight great works, Elisha with the double portion did sixteen greater works.

On the other hand, the cleric noted that Gehazi who was supposed to do much greater works than that of Elijah, supposed to be four times greater than that of Elijah, failed woefully and inherited leprosy instead.

"To do greater works, you must let your mind be on God sincerely and desire lasting virtues and not just ephemeral things," he said.

Pastor Famuyide concluded that there is a clear difference between a prophet and a man of God, differentiating that some people are prophet because they can see but only those who are men of God can really do greater works for God.

He thereafter rained fatherly blessings on all the participants.
