Christ Apostolic Church Adekitan celebrates 54th Annual Choir Festival tagged "Glory to our King"

The Christ Apostolic Church, Mountain of Blessing, was radiated with melodies and harmonies as the 54th Annual Choir Festival & Thanksgiving, themed 'Glory to our King,' held on Sunday, October 29, 2023.

The resounding voices of the choir and the devout congregation filled the sanctuary, creating an ambiance of spiritual elevation and gratitude.

The musical jubilee commenced with a captivating concert featuring an orchestra that set the tone for the grand event. The choir, led by their revered conductors, the Choir Master/Organist, Mr. Olaniyi J. Ilori (FCA); Guest Conductor, Mr. Segun Soyinka; and the Music Director, Elder Michael Aladejebi, presented a mesmerizing repertoire of sacred melodies. Among which are the timeless classics "Jesu: Joy of Man's Desiring" by Johann Sebastian Bach; "Oba nla" by Michael Aladejebi; "Glory to the Lamb" by Micah Stampley; "Vivaldi - Gloria: Gloria in Excelsis Deo"; "Ka j'ijo, ka'yo" by Tolu Olubusoye; "Vesper: Imole ni O" by David Aina, and many others.

The Special Guest and preacher for the day was the Regional Music Director of the Christ Apostolic Church, Akilling Region, Pastor (Dr.) Tosin Akinpelu who delivered a soul-stirring message, on the topic "God is a jealous God who does not share His glory with anyone," echoing the scriptural verses from Isaiah 42:8 and Romans 12:1.

The cleric emphasized that God alone deserves all praise and worship, stressing the glorification of God through obedience to His commandments.

He urged the congregation on self-examination, highlighting the prevalence of modern-day idols that may not be tangible but could encompass various aspects of life like career, material possessions, or even relationships.

Pastor Akinpelu also encouraged the audience to realign their devotion solely to God.

The festival saw an assembly of choristers, besides the host choir, from churches such as C.A.C Macaulay, C.A.C Olorunsogo, the Redeemed Christian Church of God, among others.

The event ended with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by the Music Director, Elder Michael Aladejebi who appreciated the District Superintendent/Minister-in-Charge of the church, Pastor J. Ola. Oyepetun; the Choir Patrons and Patronesses; Board of Elders; Deaconesses, other departments in the church, and all friends of the choir; for their unwaivering support through the years.

As the program drew to a close, the voices of the congregation resonated through the sanctuary, united in the rendition of C.A.C.H.B 892 (Tune: Westminster Abbey), which underscores the spirit of thanksgiving and praise.

The 54th Annual Choir Festival & Thanksgiving of the Christ Apostolic Church, Mountain of Blessing, was not only an experience of musical excellence but also a spiritual nourishment for the congregation, leaving an indelible mark of reverence and gratitude in their hearts.
