Celebration Galore: Pastor Yerokun bags PhD, holds graduation thanksgiving service with book launch

It was an emotional day of great joy for the Zonal Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church, Amazing Grace Zone, Ikorodu, Lagos, Pastor Timothy O. A. Yerokun as he bagged Ph.D in Christian Studies at University of Ilorin, Kwara State.

Pastor Yerokun was among the 25, 234 graduates and 191 PhD graduates at the 37th and 38th convocation ceremonies of the University of Ilorin held on Saturday, 21st October, 2023 in Ilorin, Kwara State.

In appreciation to God for the successful completion of his programme, Pastor Yerokun held graduation thanksgiving service at the English Assembly of CAC Ilorin Districts' Coordinating Council (DCC) headquarters, Ilorin, Kwara State.

The Cleric also launched a new book titled "The Bastard But Favoured: A Divine Periscope of How God Raises the Rejected Ones."

The service had in attendance the Superintendent of CAC Ilorin DCC, Evang. E.T. Akeredolu and his wife; Regional Secretary of Babajide Region, Pastor A.T. Daramola; Prophet J.O. Adeniji; Project Supervisor of Pastor Yerokun, Rev. Dr. Caleb O. Ogunkunle and many others.

Speaking at the programme, the Celebrant, Pastor Yerokun, revealed that he was anointed as a Prophet when he was three months old by a minister of God who came from Akure.

He noted that becoming a minister of God was against his wish which was to go to school.

"I withdrew from school because of the calling of God upon my life. I was studying Law in University of Ibadan and Accountancy in The Polytechnic Ibadan when I withdrew and came to Ilorin. I enrolled myself in Bible School. I was working as a labourer with bricklayers to sponsor myself to school and that was how I finished my programme," he stated.

Pastor Yerokun who disclosed that he was from a polygamous family, said out of his father and mother's children, he is the only one who got to that level academically, and that is why he wrote the book, "The Bastard But Favoured: A Divine Periscope of How God Raises the Rejected Ones."

He added that; "I wrote the book for the less privileged to know that with the help of God, they can go places in life."

He appreciated his wife and everyone who contributed to his success, including his Project Supervisor, Rev. Ogunkunle.

Speaking about Pastor Yerokun, Rev. Ogunkunle thanked God for the life of the celebrant, saying that for anyone to achieve this, there must be vision.

He revealed that Pastor Yerokun didn't give up, he continued to persist and was determined.

While giving the exhortation at the service, the Superintendent of Ilorin DCC, Evang. Akeredolu said Pastor Yerokun is his son in the Lord and in the ministry he is always proud of.

According to him, they felt his impact in Ilorin DCC before he was transferred to Lagos, adding that; "I wouldn't have wanted him to go if not because it was a promotion for him. Kudos to the wife who sacrificed a lot for her husband to achieve this."

Evang. Akeredolu noted that many got their PhD with money, but thank God for Pastor Yerokun who worked tirelessly to achieve this, urging him to create time to appreciate God.

He urged everyone to be focused irrespective of what they may be passing through, noting that there's always discouragement in the journey of life, but no matter the situation, it is good to praise God the more.

Despite the present state of things in the country, the Cleric said anyone who has a relationship with God will enjoy life, adding that when one knows how to praise God, one is already a winner and a champion.

Speaking on Psalm 103, Evang. Akeredolu said the Psalm encompasses praising God as all one does wholeheartedly, through one's lifestyle, mouth, tongue etc.; imploring everyone to imbibe the habit of praising God.

The glamorous celebration of God's faithfulness ended with a group photography session with the Celebrant and his wife.
