"If you sleep on Delilah's laps, you cannot find yourself on Abraham's bossom," the Chairman, Christ Apostolic Church Youth Advisory Committee, Pastor M. K. Ehinmode has told Christ Apostolic Church youths from Lagos and Ogun States.

Pastor Ehinmode gave counsels on marriage at the just concluded 2023 CAC International Youth Conference and Thanksgiving Celebration, Ikeji II conference center, held at Joseph Ayo Babalola Memorial International Miracle Camp, Ikeji Arakeji, Osun State.

Speaking on the topic, "The Wise: Builds a Lasting marriage on Christ's Doctrine", the cleric counselled the youths not to gamble with their lives and destinies.

Pastor Ehinmode, who is also the Superintendent, CAC Amuwo Odofin DCC, Lagos, said "any decision taken out of emotions will lead to commotion. One major mistake will lead to a major crash of destiny. One wrong step in life may lead to a major crash of destiny," noting that marriage is one of the important things and choices to make in life.

According to the clergyman, "marriage is God's institution. Marriage was ordained and established by God to be a blessing, not a curse. Marriage was established to make life good for you and myself. Many have missed the plans and purpose of God for their lives because they missed it in marriage."

"Once you miss God's original plan for your life, there may be substitute, but substitute will never be the original," the cleric said.

Pastor Ehinmode highlighted facts to know about marriage, as "marriage was God's idea, not man's. Marriage was never human discovery, human idea or hypothesis. It was God's original plan. It was ordained by God to make your existence and my existence meaningful. The holy wedlock is the holy padlock. Marriage is an irreversible joy by God's standard. Be wise in choosing who to marry. When you are married, there's no room for divorce or separation."

"Greater percentage of your life will be spent in marriage. Don't gamble with your life, don't gamble with your destiny. It is easier to eat a broken bone than to eat a broken home. Marriage can be a blessing or a curse. It can make or mar your destiny, it can make or break you. Marriage can lengthen or shorten your life. Marriage is capable of taking you to hell," he added.

The cleric who expressed that, "to get a lasting marriage, let the word of God guide you. Read the word of God. Don't listen to sugarcoated preachers we find all around the world today. When you read the word of God, go on your knees and pray," also told the youths, "don't marry a brother because he is handsome alone. That handsome brother may hunt down your destiny. Don't marry a sister only because she is beautiful. That beautiful sister may burn down your glory. She may even be a beautiful witch or whatever."

Speaking on marrying an unbeliever, the Youth Advisory Chairman noted that, "don't tell me you will change that brother or sister, because you are not a converter. God's instruction is clear that you should not be unequally yoked with an unbeliever," saying that, "before you say I do to anybody, ensure you are well guided by the Lord."

Pastor Ehinmode also counselled the youths on some keys to note before getting married, which are, marry a believer in Christ; allow the Holy Spirit to guide you in your choice; let your choice be made on the foundation of sound spiritual doctrine and character; don't engage in premarital sex.

"The foundation of any building will determine the durability of the building. Build your marriage on Christ's solid foundation," he said.
