CAC Somolu-Olaleye DCC holds 2023 Refresher Course

Christ Apostolic Church Somolu-Olaleye Districts' Coordinating Council (DCC) has held her 2023 Refresher Course.


The Annual event tagged "Equipping the Saints: Ministers, Leaders, Workers in the Knowledge of God" held from Thursday 22nd June to Saturday 24th of June 2023 at the DCC Headquarters.


In his Welcome Address, the DCC Superintendent, Pastor J.O Akinyomi appreciated God with due glory, honour, praises, adoration and thanksgiving to Him for the 2023 Refresher Course for all ministers, ministers' wives, elders, deaconesses and all church workers.


Pastor Akinyomi, taking his text from Paul's charge to Timothy in 1 Timothy 4:6-16, charged all church workers to understand their duties, adding that to become good ministers of Christ Jesus, they must be committed students of the scripture, teaching biblical truth and applying its principle, and able to think and speak biblically and refrain from the influence of unholy teaching.


Welcoming and exhorting the participants, the Superintendent encouraged his audience to to pay attention and duly apply the teachings and lectures in their lives and ministries, while introducing the Guest Speaker, Pastor Olu Olorunpomi who is the Regional Youth Coordinator of CACYOF Akinyele Region.


He concluded by imploring his audience to remain faithful servants to the end as workers of Christ's vineyard who are waiting for the coming of the Lord and Saviour.


The Regional Youth Coordinator of CACYOF Akinyele Region and the Guest Speaker, Pastor Olu Olorunpomi, in his lecture exposed the text of the theme, Ephesians 4:11-16.


According to him, the quality of leadership determines the direction of the church so much that if the church must fulfil purpose, the training and retraining of leaders is highly essential which is the essence of this refresher course. 


"Equipping the saints with the knowledge of God requires the leader to love, loose, lead, lift, load and lend for the edification of the church of God.  Therefore, ministers and leaders must possess the authority, anointing and ability to see, hence, anyone who is citizen of the kingdom and has a place in the leadership surely carries a burden of blessing and blessing of a burden because God does not joke with His church," he said.


The cleric lectured on varying topics such as, issues of personal development and fulfilment, ministerial development and dynamics, relationship and networking, understanding the key to marital fulfilment and the knowledge of God for church growth and development.


Pastor Olorunpomi concluded that the church is not a social gathering but a spiritual entity with social features, thereby all the church programs must be planned, purposeful, pointed, powerful and productive, challenging his audience that "if you are comfortable with the level of growth of the church entrusted to you and whether you are winning or whining as a workers. Think about it!"


The DCC Superintendent appreciated all and sundry for the success of the Refresher Course after an health talk, charging every participant to go home and continually progress in their spiritual growth to do exploit for the Lord.
