Christ Apostolic Church Amazing Grace Zone, Ikorodu, Lagos has held a 2-day refresher course for ministers and their wives, and workers.
The well attended programme started with a refresher course for ministers and their wives on Friday 23rd, June 2023 while that of church workers held on Saturday 24th June, 2023 all at the church premises.
In his welcome address on the first day of the course, the Zonal Superintendent, Pastor T.O.A Yerokun gave thanks to the Almighty God for the grace given to everyone to witness the year's refresher course, furthering on some truths to imbibe in order to press into certain goals as church workers.
According to him, the clerics must press against the odds, repent from dead works, stretch their imagination and crave for divine help.
"Our Zone can be greater than this, it all depends on our heart of determination. Pursue the same vision and focus with undiluted pressing together with one decision," he said.
While giving the sermon, Pastor M.O.E Ige charged the congregation on the topic, "Work your Salvation with Trembling" from the text Philippians 2: 12-13.
According to him, salvation is God's grace, God's gift of freedom from sins that Jesus made possible by taking the punishment for sins on the cross.
"Fear is described as fright or terror if we refer to Mathew 14:26, it can also mean reverential according to Acts 2:43.
Fear and trembling bring about an attitude of being on guard" he explained.
He further said that working out one's salvation with fear and trembling simply means to work out what God has already worked in as God has worked salvation in us.
The Clergyman gave out the five necessary requirements to work out salvation as workers which according to him are, hearing the word, believing the word, repentance from sins, confessing Jesus to others and baptizing them in the name of Jesus for salvation.
He concluded by encouraging the workers to work out their salvation with fear and trembling, abide in Christ and allow His Holy Spirit to manifest in their lives.
The glorious program ended with a health talk by the MD/CEO of De- way Agro Exclusive Services, Apostle (Dr.) Joshua Adedeji, who spoke on the causes of some diseases and their natural remedies.
The doctor highlighted the importance of fruits and vegetables in human health, expressing the need for balanced diet.
"The major reasons why your organs are not functioning well is because your organs are not feeding well," the Doctor concluded.
