Pastor Akanmu inducted 3rd Regional Superintendent, Odubanjo Region

The Authority of Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas on Saturday April 15, 2023 inducted Pastor Benjamin Olayiwola Akanmu as the 3rd Regional Superintendent of Odubanjo Region at the Christ Apostolic Church, Oke-Igan, Odubanjo Regional Headquarters, Akure, Ondo State.


The induction rite was administered by the General Superintendent of the Church, Pastor Emmanuel O. Odejobi.

The induction service which also had the General Secretary, CAC Nigeria and Overseas, Pastor E. E. Mapur in attendance, marks the official presentation of Pastor Akanmu to the Region by the Church Authority having taken over the mantle on January 16, 2023 following the retirement of Pastor D. I. O. Edoh who was the second Regional Superintendent.


In his message after performing the induction and handing over of the new Regional Superintendent to the Regional Executives, the General Superintendent, Pastor Odejobi spoke on the attributes of a good shepherd.


Picking his text from Numbers 27:16-18, Pastor Odejobi said the one to be chosen must be holy, not materialistic, know the importance of leadership, be ready to lay down his life for the sheep and be with the Spirit of God.


He stated that the various levels of positions in the mission was made for administrative convenience and growth, hence it is required that the person occupying any position be filled with the Spirit of God in order to ensure spiritual, administrative, numerical, financial and material growths. 


He, however emphasized spiritual growth as a catalyst that would ensure quality growth in other areas. 


Earlier in his Welcome Address, the Regional Secretary, Pastor Solomon Olaiya thanked the Church Authority for posting Pastor Benjamin Akanmu to the Region as his coming was timely and divine. 


He noted that within the short period of his arrival the entire Region has witnessed peaceful co-existence, love and fatherly care.


Responding, the newly inducted Regional Superintendent, Pastor Akanmu thanked God and the Authority for the grace to attain such a position in the mission. While thanking everyone that came from far and near to grace the occasion, he prayed for journeying mercies back to their destinations.


Pastor Akanmu, a former Architectural Technician, was born into the family of late Pa Olatunde Akanmu Oni of Omilabu’s compound Opopo Labiran-Ibadan in the 40s. On coming to the ministry he passed through stages ranging from non-ordained minister to Assembly Pastor, District Superintendent, Zonal Superintendent and DCC Superintendent before his appointment as Regional Superintendent. 


Among dignitaries that graced the occasion were Pastor D. O. A. Oloye, General Superintendent retired,  Pastor S. O. Akinsulure, the first Regional Superintendent, Odubanjo Region,  Pastor D. I. O. Edoh, the second  Regional Superintendent Odubanjo Region,  Pastor Jayeoba, Sophia Regional Superintendent, Pastor J. O. Ogunwuyi, Babalola Regional Superintendent, representatives from all the seven axes in the Region, representatives from PFN, CPFN, CPFN/PFN, BSN and CAN including dignitaries from Ibadan.
