Christ Apostolic Church is blessed with ministers who are not after selfish interest, but the growth and development of the church. Ministers of God who dedicated themselves to church planting, evangelism, proper church administration etc., Pastor Gideon O. Oladokun is one of such ministers. He is one of the leaders who defends the truth irrespective of what may cost him.
The 4th DCC Superintendent of CAC Itire DCC who marks his birthday today is a teacher, an Evangelist,a Pastor, a Prophet, author of books and musicologist with 11 albums to his credit.
Pastor Oladokun was born into a Christian Family of Late Pastor Joseph Oladokun Awokunle and Late Mrs. Elizabeth Adeoti Awokunle on 15th February, 1959 at Ibadan Oyo State.
He was groomed and brought up in the way of the Lord, through fervent prayers, spiritually and biblical teachings. He had lowly and humble beginning whom God delivered from sudden blindness while still in primary school but witnessed the healing power of the Lord, Jesus Christ after one year. He rose from being a shorthand typist, land surveyor and professional driver to answer the call of God in 1981.
Pastor Oladokun who is a firm believer in hard work stressed that to be successful minister it required formal education which he pursued and diligence by attending various Bible Schools, Seminaries and University for a formal Theological training from where he obtained various degrees.
Doctor of Biblical Studies from the Triune Biblical University, Washington DC, USA (Lagos extension) 1995; Doctor of Philosophy in Church Growth and Ministry from Go Ye Christian University in Affiliation with Africa Institute of Church Growth, Lagos 2004.
Masters of Theology from the Triune Biblical University, Washington DC, USA (Lagos extension) 1992; post graduate Diploma in Church Growth from African Institute of Church Growth 2001; Bachelor of Theology from Triune Biblical University, Washington DC, USA (Lagos extension) 1991; Advance Diploma in Church Growth from African Institute of Church Growth 2000; Diploma in Theology from International Bible Training College (IBTC), Ayobo, Lagos 1982 and Diploma in Basic and Advance course in child Evangelism from Child and word foundation, 1987.
Pastor Oladokun has worked in various stations which are CAC Gospel Light Centre (1982-1983), CAC Holiness Assembly now CAC Grace Tabernacle Zone, Ijeshatedo (1983-1985), CAC Holiness Assembly Ipaja now CAC Grace Tabernacle District Headquarters (1985-1994) and he was ordained in December 1993.
The Cleric also worked at CAC Somolu Olaleye (1994-1998), CAC Agbokojo Ibadan (1998-2003), promoted to District Superintendent and transferred to CAC Gaa Akanbi Ilorin (2004-2007), upon request, he was promoted as Pioneer Chairman, CAC Agbo Oba zone (2007-2011), DCC Superintendent, CAC Oke Isegun DCC,Ondo (2012-2016), DCC Superintendent, CAC Yaba DCC, (2016-2017), CAC Christ the King DCC, Kubwa (April-Dec 2017) and CAC Itire DCC, January 2018 till date.
Pastor Oladokun is a member of General Executive Council (GEC) of CAC Worldwide, member Pastoral Ordination Committee of CAC Worldwide, Chairman, Logistics Committee pastoral ordination committee and Member of CAC Theological Seminary Governing Council.
God used Pastor Oladokun to plant 13 assemblies in Lagos and three in Ibadan, Oyo state.
He was appointed the chairman of all conference planning committee by the church authority last year.
