CAC Theological Seminary declares mid-semester break for students over general elections, prevalent economic crises

In the light of the ripple effects of fuel scarcity, CBN's policy on the redesigned naira notes, and forthcoming 2023 general elections, the Christ Apostolic Church Theological Seminary (CACTS) has declared  a mid-semester break for all her students.

In a circular signed by the Provost of the Seminary, Pastor (Prof.) C. O. Oshun, sent to CAC News, "all CACTS Ile-Ife Campuses' students should proceed on a mid-Semester break from Wednesday, 22nd February, 2023 and resume back on Wednesday 15th March, 2023."

According to the Provost, the three weeks break, which allows the students exercise their civic rights in voting political candidates of their choices, will not halt the academic activities of the school.

"That all lecturers (both regular and adjunct) be instructed to provide their students with lecture notes, practice questions, assignments and other academic materials that would assist them to carry out their academic work during the break; that while on break, lecturers should engage their students through on-line teaching and/or tutorials," the circular stated.

The Seminary, with its directive binding on all her campuses, exempted students willing to stay back in the school "during the break for any justifiable reason should be requested to address his/her request through respective Deans of Student Affairs to the Heads of such Campus for approval; and that any student whose application has been approved must be ready to stay within the confines of the school premises and obey the existing rules and regulations guiding conduct in the school."
