CAC Isokun DCC holds Annual Refresher Course



The 2022 Edition of the Annual Refresher Course for Ministers' and their Wives, Elders and Deaconesses of Christ Apostolic Church, Isokun Districts' Coordinating Council (DCC), Ilesa, Osun State, would be best described as moments of refreshing


The Refresher Course, under the theme, "Rediscovering the Path to Spiritual Maturity in a Time Like This" held on Friday, 19th and Saturday 20th August 2022 at the DCC headquarters.


In his Welcome Address, the Isokun DCC Superintendent, Pastor T. A Adesoji, who appreciated God as well as the planning committee who made the retreat a success, further enlightened the congregation on the purpose of gathering.


Elucidating the theme of the retreat, Pastor Adesoji pointed that "The purpose of coming together at this forum is to learn at the feet of Christ in order to better our relationship with God who called us together in his vineyard."


The first lecture, delivered by the Coordinator of Christ Apostolic Church Theological Seminary (CACTS), Babajide School of Prophets and Evangelist (BSPE), Ile Ife, Ilesa Campus, Pastor (Dr.) T. A Fashina,  dwelled on the role of ministers in the revival of the church in times like this. 


The cleric examined the church from the new testament perspective, describing what revival is, why it tarries in this contemporary age and the roles of Ministers of God in the quest revival.


Delivering the second lecture, wife of the DCC Superintendent, Mrs O. A Adesoji, spoke on the role of Ministers' wives in the ministries of their husbands on the path to spiritual maturity.


Analysing the expected roles of Ministers' wives in all spheres of life ranging from domestic, spiritual, social and occupational spheres, Mrs Adesoji explained the pathway to spiritual maturity, itemizing the signs of spiritual maturity expected to be seen and exhibited by Minister's wives. 


She concluded that God gives grace for accomplishing every assignment commissioned into everyone's hand.


In the last lecture, delivered by the CACTS BSPE Coordinator, Pastor Fasina, discussing the place of Elders and Deaconesses in the spiritual maturity of the church, clarified the description of an Elder and Deaconess, highlighting their qualifications in the light of 1 Timothy 3:8-12.

 

The cleric further identified the strongholds against the spiritual maturity of the church, concluding on the place of Elders and Deaconesses in the spiritual maturity of the church.


In the wake of the menace of insecurity in the country, a seasoned security expert, Mr Alaka gave solid awareness on securing the environment, the church premises as precautionary measures against external attack.


The retreat also featured workshop, prayers and questions and answers, as the refresher course program was rounded up with a holy communion service.


Pastor G. P. Ogunwale of Freedom District was the Chairman, Planning Committee of the 2022 Refresher Course.
