The Board of Trustees of Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU), under the leadership of the visitor, Pastor Samuel Oladele has ratified the appointment of Dapo Adeniyi as Registrar and secretary to the institution’s governing council.
Before his recent appointment, Adeniyi served as Deputy Registrar in the office of the Vice-Chancellor since 2011. In that capacity, he worked with three Vice-Chancellors. He succeeds the pioneer registrar, Barrister Wale Aderibigbe who bowed out of offfice after fifteen years of pioneering and meritorious service.
Dapo Adeniyi first joined JABU in 2006 as an Administrative Officer in the Council Affairs Unit. After 4 years in the Council Affairs Unit, he was posted to Akure in 2010 as the Administrative Officer in charge of the Ondo State Liaison Office of the university.
During his stay in the Ondo State office, he was in charge of marketing the University to drive enrolment increase, served as the liaison officer between the University and her target audience whilst providing support, consultation, and counsel to prospective students.
In 2011, Adeniyi was posted to the Vice-Chancellor’s Office as the Senior Assistant Registrar and Special Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor. In 2013, he doubled as the Head of the Public Relations Office, and in 2016, he became the Deputy Registrar and Special Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor and Head, Public Relations Office.
Before joining Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Adeniyi served as a Teacher with the Ondo State Teaching Service Commission.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Diplomacy and Management (FCIPDM), Member, Association of Registered Managers and Administrators, United Kingdom (ARMA - UK), Associate Member, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (ANIPR), and Member, Association of Nigeria University Professional Administrators (MANUPA).
As the second Substantive Registrar of Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Adeniyi will work closely with the Governing Council, Board of Trustees, staff, alumni, and students of the University. He will oversee the administrative activities as well as other relevant duties assigned to him by the Council.
Joseph Ayo Babalola University was founded in 2006 by the Christ Apostolic Church, Nigeria and Overseas. It is a private University located in Ipo Arakeji and Ikeji-Arakeji, two neighboring communities in Osun State, Nigeria. The university is named after one of the founding fathers of Christ Apostolic Church, Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola (1904–1959). Joseph Ayo Babalola University is a fully residential institution. The University offers courses in the following colleges; Agriculture and Natural Sciences; Environmental Sciences, Health Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences; Law and Management Sciences. JABU is the First Entrepreneurial University in Nigeria.
