The retired and former Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church, Itire Districts' Coordinating Council (DCC), Pastor Michael Adebayo Adeoye, has stressed the need for youths in this generation to earnestly contend for the faith that was given to the fathers.

He said this while addressing the youths during the maiden edition of the youth fellowship's bi-monthly programme, tagged "Faith of our Fathers", held at CAC All Saints Chapel, CAC General Secretariat, Ibadan on Thursday, 15th July, 2021.

Admonishing the youths from the scriptural text, Jude 1:3, Pastor Adeoye said that the faith did not emanate from the founding fathers of Christ Apostolic Church, rather it was passed down to them.

He therefore, stressed the need for youths in this generation to also replicate the faith.

He added that if youths should emulate the faith of the fathers with totality, even as the fathers also lived in total submission to God.

"If we want to replicate, it must be total - holistic replication. Our fathers were people who surrendered the totality of their lives to God even though they did not have the privilege we have today." He said.

"We are privileged in this generation. Some years ago, I counted the versions of Bible I had, they were about twenty to twenty-five. Our fathers did not have more than one Bible version, yet they did exploits." He added.

Citing examples of Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola and Oba Akinyele, he stated further that the exploits of our fathers, are not fictions, rather they are testimonies that are worthy of emulation.

Advising the youths during the interactive session after the charge, Pastor Adeoye emphasised the need for youths to be submissive and reflect Christ in all they do.
