Christ Apostolic Church, Worldwide, has expressed concern over the state of insecurity and increased poverty level in the country.
The General Secretary of the Church, Pastor Emmanuel E. Mapur made this known in Abuja during the induction of Pastor Osita Collins Chuckwuezie as the 2nd Regional Superintendent of CAC Medaiyese Region.
Pastor Mapur who said the situation was making life difficult for the citizenry appealed to the Federal Government to come up with new measures to address the situation.
”We cannot continue living as if we are fighting a war everyday, let our government come out and show themselves that they are government,” he said.
He also urged the government at all levels to listen to the youth because they can do many things. ”So they should listen to the youth and try to meet them at the point of need.
”Listen to their complaint, government should try and do what they can to help the youth to develop,” he said.
Pastor Mapur also urged the Federal Government to take urgent steps towards addressing increasing cases of killings, kidnappings and other crimes in the country.
He also urged Nigerians irrespective of political, religious and ethnic differences to come together and support the government in moving the country forward.
While appreciating the doggedness of the security agencies in tackling the challenges, Pastor Mapur stressed the need for Nigerians to be security conscious and pray fervently for Divine intervention.
The newly inducted Regional Superintendent of CAC Medaiyese Region, Pastor Chukwuezie appealed to Christians to see the challenges in the country as an opportunity to move closer to God.
According to him, the situation will not affect the spread of the Gospel in the Northern part of the country.
Pastor Chukwuezie reiterated the resolve of the Church to continue to extend its corporate social responsibilities also to non Christains to complement Government’s efforts at addressing the plight of the less privileged in the society.
