The President of Christ Apostolic Church, Worldwide, Pastor Abraham O. Akinosun has said salvation can only be received through Jesus Christ, not by trying to live a good life.

According to him, salvation is free and cannot be bought by trying to live a good life, noting that Jesus Christ has done the work of salvation for mankind freely.

Pastor Akinosun said this on Friday December 11, 2020 at the Christmas Carol of Nine Lessons organized by CAC Worldwide held at All Saints' Chapel, CAC General Secretariat, Basorun, Ibadan.

He noted that the celebration of Christmas is based on the benevolence of God to redeem mankind from sin.

He further explained that "mankind has been adjudged sinners by the Creator (God) because of the sin of Adam and Eve. He was sent out of the Garden of Eden. His companionship with his Maker was broken. The Lord in His infinite mercy mitigated the verdict by sending Christ and that is the reason for Christmas."

Pastor Akinosun stressed that God's salvation covers human need and it is absolutely necessary.

"It is imperative that everyone be saved. Jesus died in order for man to be saved. By nature we were lost, but God saved us through Christ. Salvation must be experienced here on earth. Salvation can only be received through Christ and it is offered to all. It has been made available to all. You have the option to receive or reject it. You can't buy salvation by trying to live a good life (Eph 2:8-10). It is has been provided by Christ's death. It is God's plan to reconcile man back Him," the Cleric said.

The Choir in their beautiful robe performed powerful and inspiring Christmas songs like "In the Bleak Midwinter", "O Little town of Bethlehem" by K.V. Williams, "Hail to the Lord's Anointed" by Cruger, "Oba ni ma sin" by Bidemi Oyesanya (SAN), "All hail to Thee, Emmanuel" by C.H. Gabriel, "Angel Carol" by John Rutter, "Jesu mi seun" by Dotun Olayemi, "Oba Odun" by Femi Adedeji and many others.
