No word can best describe the joy of the atmosphere at the 75th birthday ceremony of the President of Christ Apostolic Church, Worldwide, Pastor Abraham Olukunle Akinosun which was held on Thursday October 29, 2020 at CAC Agbala Itura, Ibadan.

The glamorous celebration of God’s faithfulness had in attendance the President of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Supo Ayokunle, representatives of the General Overseer of Gospel Faith Mission International, Pastor (Dr.) Elijah Oludele Abina and Vice President/LAWNA Territorial Chairman, The Apostolic Church, Nigeria, Pastor E.S. Awojide. Also in attendance, is the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji, Aje Ogungunniso 1 and some other traditional rulers.

While speaking at the event, the President of CAC Worldwide, Pastor Akinosun  said he never knew he could be up to 20 years on earth considering the fact that he hails from a place full of wicked people who indeed tormented him, adding that God helped him to overcome them.

He said God has helped him to know His way since when he was young, saying that his teachers used to call him Pastor when he was in Primary 2.

“God has been my fortress and glory. The glory of God is something that can make one unique. Some people believe glory can be stolen, but I believe no one can steal God’s glory,” he said.

He further explained that "If one wants to look at the past, it is very clear that the Lord has been the captain of the boat because it has not been so easy. I remember when I was at the Bible College, some of my friends would look at me and say “lucky guy”, while some would look at me and say “we have not seen anyone having problems or challenges of life like you.” My youth days were very challenging. There was a time I said if there was any poor family, my own family is the poorest of the poor. There was a day I was listening to the General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian of God, Pastor E.A. Adeboye, when he was talking about his past, it was just like mine. Until I passed out from my primary school, I never used slippers, not because I don’t like it, but because there was no money to buy one. I can count the number of days my father gave me a kobo throughout the six years when I was in primary school."

"Like I said before, when I was at the Bible College some would see me and say lucky guy. Similarly, people used to look at me as someone who is coming from a very rich home, but my teachers knew I was from a very poor family. After graduating from my primary school in my village very close to Akinyele Local Government, some women were happy because they thought they would be using me to till their farming yards. I behaved as if I never heard them. I used to perform more excellently in school than the children of those women and they were not happy because many of their children came out with failures."

"There was a day we experienced fire outbreak in our house and it erupted from where I put my box which has my certificates and testimonials. The whole house got burnt including all my documents and that was in 1961. They thought that was going to be the end of my achievements in life, but I thank God for His faithfulness in my life."

The Vice President/ LAWNA Territorial Chairman, The Apostolic Church, Nigeria, Pastor E.S. Awojide said God has long life in his plan for His children (Psalm 91:16).

Pastor Awojide who was represented by Pastor Fakunle, said old age is the time to bear more fruits for Christ, adding that God’s expectation is that His ministers should bear fruits irrespective of their ages

The glamorous celebration ended with a colourful reception at Messiah Event Hall, inside CAC Agbala Itura. Renowned Gospel singer, Pastor J.A. Adelakun, popularly known as “Ayewa” thrilled the congregation with melodious songs.
