Text: DEUTERONOMY 28:1, Psalm 29

INTRODUCTION: One cannot say much about God because HE is beyond our human Reasoning. GOD the self-existing being; The Immortal, Invisible,Omnipresent, Omniscient, Omnipotent, and the Eternal God that made us in His own image (Genesis 1:26:27)

No One can claim to know everything about God, except what He reveals to us in the Bible (Deuteronomy 29:29) God always communicates with us in the way we can easily understand: In the Dream, through Prophet, Prophecy, Revelation, and Sermon on the pulpit (Psalm 19 lines 1-2. Hebrews 1:1-2.

One way to be blessed is to obey the word/voice of God as soon as it is heard. The blessing comes when we do according to what the word requires. We shall examine the consequences of disobeying or neglecting God's voice/word with biblical examples for us to learn from.

EFFICACY OF GOD'S WORD
Reading Psalm 29, the voice of the Lord is revealed in seven times as Powerful which Hebrews 4:12 alluded to and says: it is shaper than two edged sword. The voice of God did miraculous work during the era of Prophet Elijah (1Kings 19:11-13) Those who obey His voice received multiple blessings and those who rejected God's voice, counted their losses.

1. Cain replied God sharply when he said "am I my brother's keeper?" (Genesis 4:8-9) He became a murderer, fugitive and vagabond

2. Eli the Priest replied God to do whatsoever pleased Him concerning his children (1Samuel 3:17-18) God removed the Priesthood title from his lineage as a result.

3. After the report of those who spied the promised land ten out of the twelve spies said we couldn't occupy the land and they suffered the consequences for 40 years instead of 40 days (Numbers 14:34)

4. During the ministry of Prophet Jeremiah, God showed them the fastest way to go but they replied God sharply that they were not going to obey and they suffered for 70 years in Babylonian captivity (Psalm 137 lines1-9, Jeremiah 6:15)

5. God challenged the Israelites that they had robbed God in Tithing but they challenged God by asking "how have we robbed you" (Malachi 3:8-12) God gave them up for 400 years called the dark era, between Malachi and Matthew (Old and New Testament) era of The Maccabees

6. The high chief of Samaria who challenged Prophet Elisha sharply, saying if God opens the windows of heavens, can your prophecy be possible? you will surely see it but you are not going to taste it. (2Kings 7:1-2; 19-20)

7. Adam and Eve rejected God's voice and they became naked and were driven out of the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3:1-21) They heard God's voice and were afraid (Genesis 3:10)

APPLICATION
God does not joke with his VOICE. King Herod equalised his voice with that of God and he died a shameful death instantly (Acts 12:21-23) At times God can speak to you gently (1Kings 19:11-13; Deuteronomy 28:1-14) At times in a thundering form. Obey God's voice for your blessing, promotion and elevation (Job 5:27 Hebrews 4:2, 12) Never you harden your heart whenever God speaks to you.

God's voice is in five-fold (Genesis 26:5) His Voice, Charges, Laws, Commandments, and ordinances. these made Abraham to become founder of monotheism, father of faith and friend of God.
God's handwriting is also powerful (Daniel 5:5; 6:24-30)
