CAC Isegun-Moore Choir celebrates 81st anniversary, dedicates new robe

By 'Gbenga Bankole

It was indeed a celebration of God's faithfulness at the 81st Choir Anniversary of Christ Apostolic Church, Isegun-Moore, Ife Districts' Coordinating Council (DCC) headquarters, Ile-Ife, Osun State.

The anniversary was held on Sunday October 6, 2019 in the main auditorium of the church. The choir also dedicated her newly acquired robe. The robe was unveiled to the congregation by Ife DCC Superintendent, Pastor P.A. Ogunwale.

The choir in the beautiful robe performed songs like "Gbori s'oke" by Ayo Oluranti, "Oba Ajiki" by Bidemi Oyesanya, "Olorun Apejuba" by C.O. Adegbaju, "Ladugbo" by Lekan Olaitan, "Labamania" by Yomi Daramola, "Korogba" by Lanre Alumowo and "O ga ju aye lo" among others.

In a bid to reward those who have contributed immensely to the growth of the choir over the years, the choir gave Awards of Excellence to some people.

While ministering on the topic "Is Your Name Written There?", a Theologian and Professor of Music at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Pastor (Prof.) 'Femi Adedeji said that being a Superintendent, Pastor or Chorister is not an assurance that one's name is written in the book of life.

He noted that there are people who are very popular on earth, but not recognised in Heaven.

Using the hymn "When the Roll is called up Yonder" as a study, Pastor Adedeji said it is possible for someone to have the assurance that his or her name is written in the book of life while on earth.

He said some have argued that once your name is written in the book of life it can never be removed because it is written with the blood of Jesus, saying that he believed it can't be removed, but he can be cancelled.

He lamented that the legacy of holiness left behind by the founding fathers of Christ Apostolic Church has been neglected by this present generation, particularly the youths.

The Choirmaster of Isegun-Moore, Elder Leke Adegbaju while speaking appreciated the authority of CAC Worldwide for endorsing the annual Music Ministers' Conference whose second edition was held July this year.

Elder Adegbaju also commended the DCC Superintendent of Ife DCC, Pastor Ogunwale and board of Elders for their prayers and guidance.
