The District Superintendent of Christ Apostolic Church, Pentecostal District Headquarters, Odokekere Ikorodu, Pastor I.T Ariyo has said that success is the dream of all men, but there is a price to pay and only few people can pay the price.

The Cleric stated this yesterday Sunday 7th January 2018 while preaching on the theme "God First" at the first Sunday of the year service.

He noted that success and failure are phenomenon that are part of human existence, saying that each day is accompanied with them and year 2018 is not exempted.

According to him, there is success and failure this year, everyone has the choice to choose.

Pastor Ariyo said that the reason some people failed is because they trust in the arm of flesh, put their hope in man, put God behind them, as a result of complacency and laziness, not striking the balance between serving God and personal endeavor, mismanagement of time, opportunities and misappropriation of wealth and sacrifice in the place of obedience.

He further stated that other reasons are mismanagement of home and health, weak attitude to the power of fellowship and eating the portion of God in someone's gains which is tithe and offering.

The Cleric advised the congregation not to joke with their tithes this year, urging them to pay it fully at all time.

"You need to put God first in the journey of this year because of major three reasons. Firstly, because it is the principle of first commandment. Jesus gave this commandment in Matthew 22 vs. 37-38. Secondly, because God is a jealous God. Thirdly, God does not want His glory to be shared. He want to take the total glory, not sharing it with anyone," he said.
