JABU to commence Open Distance Learning Programme

The foremost entrepreneurial University in Nigeria, Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU) has deemed it fit to commence Open and Distance Learning Programme in the first quarter of this year.



The Vice Chancellor of the reputable citadel of learning, Prof. Sola Fajana disclosed this at the school's 8th Convocation held recently at Ikeji-Arakeji Osun.



 In his word; "the University has continued to advance in all frontiers of learning, and to encourage distance learning mode of study, and also assuage the yearnings of the teaming youths out there, the University’s Centre for Distance Learning is awaiting a nod to commence ODL programme from the National Universities Commission."



"Thus, we witnessed the 2nd Pre-Validation visit of the NUC Resource Verification Panel to the proposed Centre for Distance Learning Programme on Wednesday, 27 to Friday, 29 December 2017."



"Hopefully, as we expect approval from the Commission soon, the programme will commence in this first quarter of the year."



The VS also disclosed that JABU's department of Mass Communication commenced on-line radio via internet; as well as an on-campus community Radio broadcast on 93.2 FM.


He added; "aside from this, the Mass Communication studio had been well-equipped for audio and video recording of learner-friendly instructional materials, and we equally upped our human and infrastructural capacity as appropriate."
