Clergy to Students:Don't allow your background to put your back on ground

Students at various higher institutions across the globe have been urged not to let their background to put their backs on the ground. 

The Parish Pastor, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG),  Power of God Parish,  Pastor Steve Olorunpomi said this yesterday while delivering a paper on the theme "Life After Campus: God Factor and Practical Experiences at a Final Year Brethren programme organised by Christ Apostolic Church Youth Fellowship (CACYOF), Lagos State Polytechnic Chapter,  Ikorodu. 

Pastor Olorunpomi urged the students not to allow the poverty of their family or parents occupy their hearts of thinking.

According to him, someone can be great in life irrespective of the poverty in someone's family, saying that as a students your background is not an excuse for you to fail in the future. 

He also said that God's expectations is that everyone should seek the kingdom of God first and its righteousness,  adding that all other things shall be added. 

While advising the final years students on what to do during National Youth Service Corp (NYSC),  Pastor Olorunpomi said: "you need to get a G. math and try to work on it before you finish your NYSC. Prepare a good Curriculum Vitae. Your CV is what define who you are even when you're not there. Let your CV be truthful and let it be error free. When you are going for a job interview, make sure you have a good hair style, a good black  suit and quality shoe. "

He further stated that the students should be determined to succeed, adding that they should not allow Nigerian economy determine or hinder their success. 

He noted that in whatever thing they want to do, they need to have absolute faith in God.

Pastor Olorunpomi advised students who are thinking of starting their own business to do a business they have passion for.
