Christ Apostolic Church, Agbala-Itura, Int'l headquarters, Ibadan on Sunday October 31, 2021 held "All Church Societies Anniversary Thanksgiving Service" with the theme "A NEW DAWN." In an interview with newsmen at the programme, the former General Evangelist of Christ Apostolic Church, Worldwide, Prophet Samuel K. Abiara speaks on many interesting issues. EXCERPT !

Looking at Nigeria today, there's insecurity, kidnapping, death here and there. Is there anyway out, sir?

Yes, Jesus is the way out. And we must not let our hearts be troubled - all Nigerians and the leaders. It's not a new thing. From the beginning, there has been chaos, calamity and so forth. In the time of Noah, God said he was disappointed that He created man. So, it's not a new thing at all.

In 1 Timothy 4, it says in the last days, there would be terrible times. These are the terrible times and we must not let our hearts be troubled at all. The only way out is to accept Christ Jesus, move closer to God, and continue to pray to God Almighty, and I believe that He will answer our prayers. It is also very important that we repent our sins and listen to His word. By doing these, God will have mercy on us.

Do you have any advise for our leaders?

Yes. We want to thank God for our leaders. Many people continue to condemn our leaders when the Bible does not give room to condemn them. The Bible only tells us we must pray for our leaders in order that God Almighty will lead them. They are not gods neither are they angels.

I just want to advise them that they must listen to the masses who voted them to power and to make them happy and do things that will make life easier for the masses. They must not refuse the advise of the masses because the masses voted them to power.

As the year is going to an end, there are so many prophecies about things that will happen at the end of the year. What is your advise to Christians and Nigerians as a whole?

I just want to tell everyone all over the world that they must not listen to the prophecies of doom at all. God owns this mission. God is our God. He will never allow bad things to happen. We must not let our hearts be troubled at all.So, we must not listen to prophecies of doom to the leaders, to government, to individuals and so on and so forth. We must pray to God Almighty to deliver us. Psalms 46 says God is our refuge and salvation, the very present help in time of trouble.

We must be careful not to listen to prophecies of doom.

To the theme of this year's thanksgiving anniversary, "A NEW DAWN". Why this theme, sir? Why did you choose this theme?

It is because people must change in order to receive new things in their lives. God will do a new thing when we change and move closer to Him. This is what birthed that theme. When people come, they will listen to the message and repent of their sins, and afterwards, new things would come just as God changed Saul to Paul. So, when we listen and come to God, He will change things in their lives.

What is your advise to Christians generally, especially with the current situation of things in the country?

My advise to the world is that they move closer to God. Jesus said, "come to me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest." Jesus is the solution to the problems of the world. Whoever wants to enjoy peace must accept Jesus as Lord and Savior. Jesus makes an example of water. You will discover that everyone needs water - for washing, drinking when thirsty etc. So, Jesus is like water such that whoever has Him will have rest and peace of mind. My counsel is that everyone repents and accept Jesus into their lives so as to enjoy rest and peace of mind.

Jesus Festival is around the corner, what should people expect from this year's program?"

We want people to come to Jesus Festival. That great festival is not for CAC members alone, but for all nations and churches. It is an interdenominational programme which we do yearly so that people would have their lives transformed, receive comfort and rest of mind. We believe that everyone who comes will listen to the Word, turn to God and their names would be written in the book of life to enter into the Kingdom of God.

What is the theme for this year's programme?"

The theme is the Kingdom, Power and Signs and Wonders.
